On June 3, 2025, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities issued the 2025 undergraduate admissions information according to Decision No. 4009 QD-XHNV.

II. UNIVERSITY ADMISSIONS
1. Eligibility and application requirements
1.1. Eligibility Criteria:
- Individuals who have graduated from a Vietnamese high school or hold a foreign diploma with recognized equivalent qualifications.
- Individuals holding a vocational diploma in a field related to the chosen program and who have completed the required amount of general education at the high school level as stipulated by law (hereinafter referred to as high school graduates).
1.2 General eligibility requirements:
- Meet the required entry threshold.
- Must be in good health to study according to current regulations.
1.3. For each major and each admission method, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has specific regulations.
2. Description of the admission process
In 2025, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, will recruit students through three admission methods:
(1) Method 1 (method code:301): Direct admission and priority admission will be based on the current admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training;
(2) Method 2 (method code: 401): Admission is based on valid results from the National University of Hanoi's High School for the Gifted (HSA) aptitude test;
(3) Method 3 (method code:100): Admission based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam.

2.1 Method 301: Direct admission and priority admission will be based on the current admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
a) Labor Hero, Hero of the People's Armed Forces, National Emulation Fighter.
b) Candidates who win first, second, or third prize in national or international student excellence competitions (subjects in which they won prizes will be considered for admission to the majors/programs specified below).Appendix 01or national or international science and technology competitions (with research projects or topics in the field of Social and Behavioral Sciences as decided by the Admissions Council) organized and nominated by the Ministry of Education and Training; the time of winning the award must not exceed 3 years from the time of direct admission consideration.
c) Candidates with severe disabilities who have a disability certificate issued by a competent authority in accordance with regulations, ensuring their ability to study certain suitable majors as prescribed.Appendix 02and is decided by the Admissions Committee.
d) Candidates who are members of ethnic minority groups with very small populations as defined by current government regulations, candidates from 20 poor border and island districts in the Southwest region, or those who have resided in one of these districts for 3 years or more, studied for 3 years and graduated from high school in these poor districts (students attending ethnic minority boarding schools are considered based on their place of residence) as defined by the Government and the Prime Minister, will be considered for admission to the prescribed majors/programs (hereinafter collectively referred to as ethnic minority) atAppendix 02.
e) Foreign candidates whose Vietnamese language knowledge and proficiency test results meet the current regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and Vietnam National University, Hanoi;
f) Candidates who are students of ethnic minority preparatory universities (DBĐH) will have their applications sent to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities by the ethnic minority preparatory universities according to the guidelines and will be considered for admission to the majors/programs specified in the regulations.Appendix 02.
2.2 Method 401: Admission based on valid results of the National University of Hanoi's High School Competency Assessment Exam (HSA).
Candidates whose HSA test scores are still valid as of the deadline for submitting registration applications on the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' registration portal (valid for 2 years from the date of the test).
Admission scoring system: Admission is based on a 150-point scale, then converted to a 30-point scale using a formula that will be announced later by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (candidates can refer to the HSA score conversion table to the 2024 high school graduation exam score conversion table, lookup links: https://vnu.edu.vn/home/; https://sfyippsu.manus.space/) and bonus points (if any) and priority points (if any) are added according to regulations.
Total score achieved= HSA points converted to 30 + bonus points
The highest possible total score is 30 points.

Candidates are entitled to regional priority points as stipulated in the regulations for the year they graduate from high school (or vocational school) and one year after. (Candidates who graduated in 2023 or earlier are not eligible for regional priority points);
Priority points for candidates with a total score of 22.5 or higher (when converted to a 10-point scale and with a maximum total score of 30 for the three subjects) are determined according to the following formula:
Priority points= [(30 – Total points achieved including bonus points)/7.5] × Priority points for region and target group
2.3. Method 100: Admission based on high school graduation exam results.
Candidates register for admission according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training, and candidates with foreign language certificates (as stipulated in...)Appendix 03) is converted into a foreign language exam score in the registered admission combination (if desired). The foreign language score conversion table is shown below.Appendix 04Included.
International language certificates eligible for conversion must be valid until the deadline for submitting registration applications on the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' registration portal (valid for 2 years from the date of the exam). Certificates with online exam formats are not eligible for conversion.
The University of Social Sciences and Humanities uses the following subject combinations for admission to specific majors:

Total score achieved= (Score in Subject 1 + Score in Subject 2 + Score in Subject 3) + bonus points.
The highest possible total score is 30 points.

Candidates are entitled to regional priority points as stipulated in the regulations for the year they graduate from high school (or vocational school) and one year after. (Candidates who graduated in 2023 or earlier are not eligible for regional priority points);
Priority points for candidates with a total score of 22.5 or higher (when converted to a 10-point scale and with a maximum total score of 30 for the three subjects) are determined according to the following formula:
Priority points= [(30 – Total points achieved including bonus points)/7.5] × Priority points for region and target group
At the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, there will be a difference in scores between different admission combinations during the selection process. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities will announce the results of the high school graduation exam and the score distribution when they are available.
3. Rules for converting equivalent entrance thresholds and admission scores between different subject combinations and admission methods.
3.1. Input threshold conversion:
a. For method 100 and method 401:
The University of Social Sciences and Humanities will announce the minimum quality assurance threshold for admission to Method 100 and Method 401 once the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam, the score distribution of the high school graduation exam, and the standard conversion formula for Method 401 are available.
b. For the DBDH object of method 301:
- Candidates must have high school graduation exam scores that meet the 2024 entrance quality assurance requirements set by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for the corresponding major they are applying for.
- High school academic performance must be at least "Good".
- The average score in foreign languages ​​at the high school level must be 7.0 or higher.
c. For candidates who are members of ethnic minority groups with very small populations as defined by the Government, candidates from 20 poor border and island districts in the Southwest region, or those who have resided in one of these districts for 3 years or more, studied for 3 years and graduated from high school in these poor districts (students attending ethnic minority boarding schools are counted based on their place of residence) as defined by the Government and the Prime Minister.Then the total score of the 3 subjects/exams in the 2025 high school graduation exam belonging to the admission combination of the registered major must meet the minimum quality assurance threshold for admission, similar to the 100-point method.
3.2 Rules for converting equivalent admission scores between different subject combinations and methods
The admission score for method 401 will be converted to a 30-point scale once the results and score distribution of the 2025 high school graduation exam are available. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities will announce the conversion formula to the 30-point scale.
4. Admission quotas

5. Other necessary information for candidates applying to the training institution.
5.1. Additional conditions in the selection process
- Admission will be based on scores from highest to lowest until all available slots are filled.
- Admission scores will be rounded to two decimal places.
- Admission scores are determined on a case-by-case basis for each major.
- In cases where candidates have the same admission score, admission will be determined by the secondary criteria: priority will be given to candidates with a higher ranking in their application.
5.2. Bonus points for encouragement
a) Candidates who win first, second, or third prize in national or international student excellence competitions.Mathematics, Literature, History, Geography, English, Chinese, Japanese, or national or international science and technology competitions (including projects and research topics in the field of Social and Behavioral Sciences, as assessed by the Admissions Council).Organized and nominated by the Ministry of Education and Training; the award must have been won no more than 3 years prior to June 30, 2025.(without using the priority right for direct admission)Candidates will receive bonus points (on a 30-point scale), specifically:
- First prize in national or international excellent student competitions or national or international science and technology competitions organized by the Ministry of Education and Training: additional points will be added.3.0point;
- Second prize in national or international excellent student competitions or national or international science and technology competitions organized by the Ministry of Education and Training: additional points will be awarded.2.5point;
- Third prize in national or international excellent student competitions or national or international science and technology competitions organized by the Ministry of Education and Training: additional points will be awarded.2.0point.
b) Candidates who have won prizes in the Hanoi National University's High School Olympic Competition, the High School Excellent Student Competition, or the Provincial/City-level Excellent Student Competition.For the subjects of Mathematics, Literature, History, Geography, English, Chinese, and Japanese, candidates will receive bonus points (on a 30-point scale), specifically:
- First prize (High School Excellent Student Award at Vietnam National University, Hanoi; High School Olympic Award at Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Provincial/City-level Excellent Student Award): plus bonus points2.5point;
- Second prize (High School Excellent Student Award at Vietnam National University, Hanoi; High School Olympic Award at Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Provincial/City-level Excellent Student Award): bonus points will be added.2.0point;
- Third prize (High School Excellent Student Award at Vietnam National University, Hanoi; High School Olympic Award at Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Provincial/City-level Excellent Student Award): bonus points will be added.1.5point.
The University of Social Sciences and Humanities does not consider awarding bonus points for student excellence competitions.Continuing Education SystemProvincial/City level (organized independently from the provincial/city-level excellent student competition).
c) Candidates who have participated in the VNU 12+ ProgramBonus points are awarded (on a 30-point scale), specifically:
Candidates can choose the academic results of 3 courses in the undergraduate program, as published annually by VNU, that they have accumulated to calculate their GPA and determine bonus points, with the following bonus point levels:
- A GPA of excellent grade will be added.2.5point;
- A GPA of excellent grade will be added.2.0point;
- A GPA of "good" or higher will be added.1.5point.
d) Candidates with scores on the SAT standardized test(Scholastic Assessment Test, USA) score of 1100/1600 or higher. The registration code of Vietnam National University-Hanoi with the SAT testing organization (The College Board) is 7853-Vietnam National University-Hanoi (candidates need to declare this registration code when registering for the SAT) and will receive bonus points (30 points per month), specifically:
- SAT scores of 1500-1600 will be added.2.0point
- SAT scores between 1300-1499 will be added.1.5point
- SAT scores from 1100-1299 will be added.1.0point
e) Candidates who achieve multiple accomplishments and earn multiple bonus points will only have their achievements counted once, with the highest score/achievement being recognized.
5.3. Other information:
Candidates who meet the criteria areSection 2.1Eligibility will be determined based on the highest priority choice for each admission method (choice 1 being the highest priority).
a) For candidates falling under category 2.1, point b
- In case the number of candidates applying for direct admission to a major/program exceeds the prescribed quota, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will consider admission in order of priority from highest to lowest based on the following criteria: (1) achievements in international student competitions or international science and technology competitions; (2) achievements in national student selection competitions or national science and technology competitions; (3) average GPA of 03 years of high school.
* Candidates with achievements in international or national science and technology competitions must be members of participating teams decided by the Ministry of Education and Training (not teams from provincial Departments of Education and Training approved by the Ministry of Education and Training).
b) For candidates falling under category 2.1, point c
- In cases where the number of applicants exceeds the announced quota, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will consider applicants based on their average GPA over the three years of high school, from highest to lowest, until the quota is filled.
c) For candidates falling under category 2.1, point d
- In the event that the number of applicants exceeds the announced quota, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will consider the total score of the 3 subjects/exams in the 2025 high school graduation exam according to the subject combination of the applicant's registered major, and select from highest to lowest until the quota is filled.
d) For candidates falling under category 2.1, point f
- In cases where the number of registered students exceeds the quota for undergraduate students in each major, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will consider the total score of the 4 subjects/exams in the 2024 high school graduation exam and select students from highest to lowest until the quota is filled.
6. Organizing the admissions process
- The University of Social Sciences and Humanities conducts admissions according to the general admissions plan of the Ministry of Education and Training.
- For candidates applying under method 301: submit your application to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities according to the detailed announcement from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and on the Ministry of Education and Training's system as per the Ministry of Education and Training's general plan.
- For candidates applying under method 401: submit registration documents on the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' registration system according to the University's detailed announcement and register your admission preferences on the Ministry of Education and Training's system according to the Ministry of Education and Training's general plan.
- Candidates submitting supporting documents to convert international foreign language certificate scores or to receive bonus points: submit registration applications on the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' registration system according to the detailed announcement of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and register their admission preferences on the Ministry of Education and Training's system according to the general plan of the Ministry of Education and Training.
7. Priority Policy
7.1 General Priority Policy

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities applies a general priority policy based on region and target group in accordance with the current admission regulations.
Candidates are only eligible for regional priority policies as stipulated in the regulations for the year they graduate from high school (or vocational school) and one year thereafter.
7.2 Direct admission and priority admission
Candidates are eligible for direct admission and priority admission as stipulated in section 2.1 of the Admission Information.
8. Application and examination fees
According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the announcement of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is committed to supporting candidates in resolving complaints, protecting their legitimate rights in cases of unforeseen circumstances, and assisting in resolving issues related to candidates transferring in or out due to errors in the admissions process.
10. Other contents
10.1. Regarding the proposed specialization
a) Oriental Studies:The Oriental Studies program comprises three specializations: Indian Studies, Thai Studies, and Chinese Studies. After the first semester, the Department of Oriental Studies will assign first-year Oriental Studies students to specializations based on their preferences and academic performance in the first semester. Priority will be given to students with HSK and HSKK Level 3 or higher language proficiency certificates for Chinese Studies, Thai language proficiency certificates for Thai Studies, and international English language certificates for Indian Studies.
b) Other fields/training programs:Students are assigned to specializations in their fourth year (students choose their specialization based on their individual professional needs and the training institution's guidelines):

10.2. Simultaneous training in two programs (double degree)
- Full-time students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have the opportunity to study a second major in one of the following fields:
+ Departments of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities:
+ English Language, Korean Language, Japanese Language, and Chinese Language majors at the University of Foreign Languages, VNU Hanoi;
+ Law program at the Faculty of Law, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
+ The Literature Teacher Training program (applicable to Literature majors); the History Teacher Training program (applicable to History majors) of the University of Education, VNU Hanoi
- Full-time students from universities within the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (University of Foreign Languages, University of Law, International University, University of Education, University of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts, University of Economics) have the opportunity to study an additional major at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities as follows:
- Students who complete the training program in both majors will receive two official bachelor's degrees.
- Requirements for enrolling in a double degree program:
+ The main field of study in the second training program must be different from the main field of study in the first training program;
+ Have completed at least two semesters of the first training program;
+ The overall average grade for all courses from the beginning of the course to the time of registration for the second training program must be 2.5 or higher and meet the quality assurance threshold for admission to the second program in the enrollment year, or the overall average grade for all courses from the beginning of the course to the time of registration for the second training program must be 2.0 or higher and meet the admission requirements of the second program in the enrollment year;
+ Students who apply to enroll in a second degree program will pay tuition fees as stipulated by the training institution.
10.3. Projected tuition fees for full-time students and maximum tuition fee increase schedule for each year (if any)
Training programs that have undergone quality accreditation will collect tuition fees according to the economic and technical norms scheme, and the tuition fee increase for subsequent academic years will not exceed 10% compared to previous years. The remaining training programs will collect tuition fees according to the regulations of Decree 97/2023/ND-CP dated December 31, 2023, of the Prime Minister, which stipulates the mechanism for collecting and managing tuition fees for educational institutions within the national education system and policies on tuition fee exemption and reduction, support for learning costs; and the expected tuition fees for the QH-2025-X cohort are as follows:
