International studies is a modern science in the world and in Vietnam.
International studies is a new training trend in the world, appearing mainly after the Cold War. This trend was born to meet the requirements of developing thinking and professional skills in a multidisciplinary, open and creative direction in the context of increasingly developing international integration, countries are increasingly deeply internationalizing in all fields.
Prof. Dr. Hoang Khac Nam, Head of the Faculty of International Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU, said that today, International Studies has been trained in many places around the world, especially in developed countries. This science has an important position in the context of the increasing interweaving of domestic and international life, between the fields of economics, politics, culture, society, environment...
Due to such intertwined realities, no one can explain any phenomena and problems with only knowledge of one discipline. Therefore, the need for multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary training has become urgent. International Studies was born to meet the modern awareness and training requirements.
The Faculty of International Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU is the pioneer in establishing the International Studies major since 1995.
