At the reception for representatives from CSDS, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan – Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – expressed his appreciation for the Center for Sustainable Development Studies' goodwill and cooperation over the past period. Prior to this, since November 2017, the Center for Sustainable Development Studies had been carrying out volunteer activities to support VNU-USSH students, most notably organizing free international English classes with teachers who are collaborators from various countries participating in the International Volunteer Program coordinated by CSDS.
The curriculum is based on materials compiled by CSDS, covering topics related to common communication situations. Besides the opportunity to practice English communication with international volunteers, students also have the chance to develop and acquire many other useful soft skills through creative and engaging teaching activities.
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, expressed his desire to expand cooperation with CSDS in activities for students.
After a period of interruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the cooperation program will resume to build and enhance English language skills for VNU-USSH students, expanding their opportunities to participate in social and volunteer activities.
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan affirmed that the university will cooperate and make the most of its resources to implement activities carried out by CSDS at VNU-USSH in order to bring the best value to students. Both sides agreed to continue implementing cooperative activities, including opening free English classes for students and supporting the formalization of volunteer activities of the Youth Union and Student Association. A new feature in organizing the free English teaching program is the priority given to implementing a self-created classroom model, where students organize classes to suit their needs and study time.
VNU-USSH warmly welcomes international collaborators who wish to work with the university long-term.
