Speaking at the meeting, President Hoang Anh Tuan shared: Chinese universities are important partners in training and developing scientific research of the University. Currently, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has cooperative relationships with more than 60 partners, which are universities and research institutes in China across cities such as Guangdong, Yunnan, Shanghai, etc. The University always focuses on building new teaching orientations, and implementing flexible training programs, suitable for many students, including international students. In particular, in 2023, the University welcomed more than 200 Chinese students to study and research at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - an achievement thanks to the trust of Chinese students in the training program with high practicality and rich content of the University. With the mission of taking the lead in training high-quality, highly qualified human resources; In research, creation and dissemination of knowledge in the field of social sciences and humanities, the School always attaches importance to expanding cooperation with international educational and research organizations and prestigious scientists in the world.
The University of Social Sciences and Humanities always values the cooperative relationship with Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, an important partner in cooperation and training of the University. Hopefully, in the near future, the two sides will soon achieve new successes in the process of restarting cooperation after the recovery from Covid-19.
Prof. Shi You Qi - President of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Foreign Trade thanked the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for always promoting cooperation between the two universities over the years. In particular, according to Prof. Shi You Qi, not only Vietnamese students, but also Chinese students have a special interest in the social sciences of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. With a dynamic, professional and safe environment, many Chinese students after completing their studies at VNU - USSH have recounted their unforgettable experiences.
Since the signing of the memorandum of understanding in 2017, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies have achieved certain achievements in teaching, research exchange, and co-publishing. With the end of the Covid-19 pandemic, cooperation activities need to be promoted by both sides, especially in increasing student exchanges, exchanges in the field of Vietnamese language and culture, and exchanges of excellent teachers.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa - representative of the Faculty of Oriental Studies also shared: The Faculty of Oriental Studies was established in 1995, with 5 training majors: Chinese Studies, Korean Studies, Japanese Studies, Indian Studies and Southeast Asian Studies. The Faculty supports training from bachelor to master and doctorate. In which, China is an important major of the Faculty of Oriental Studies. With similarities in expertise, training and research directions, in the near future, the two universities can move towards in-depth cooperation in expanded fields, not only limited to Chinese Studies but also towards other majors that are the strengths of both sides. The Faculty of Oriental Studies always welcomes lecturers, students and trainees from China to come to lecture, study and research at VNU - USSH in particular and Vietnam in general.
At the meeting, the two sides agreed on many important contents. In particular, they emphasized the expansion of cooperation in faculties and fields such as Chinese Studies, History and Communication. In addition, the two sides agreed on a number of terms in scientific research, organizing forums and high-level seminars. In particular, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Guangdong University of Foreign Languages and International Trade agreed to organize forums on political economy and culture, and improve the quality of talent training between the two schools.
At the same time, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies expressed its desire to receive VNU - USSH students through study and research, with special subjects and programs for both English and Chinese.
Professor Shi You Qi affirmed: The Vietnam - China relationship will be the foundation to promote the cooperation process between the two educational institutions to a new level.
