The delegation of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities worked with 8 Chinese universities and vocational education institutions, including long-standing partners with many cooperative activities from training cooperation to scientific research cooperation with the School, and new, potential partners, such as Guangxi University, Guangxi Nationalities University, Hu Xiangsi Academy, Nanning Vocational Technical Academy, Guilin Academy, Guangxi Normal University, Nanning Normal University, Guangxi University of Commerce, etc.
These are prestigious training institutions, with tens of thousands of students and trainees studying, having a long tradition of cooperation with VNU-USSH, with many activities of student and lecturer exchange, academic exchange and sharing of university management experience in the context of digital transformation.
After a long period of social distancing due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the working trip of the University's leaders aims to maintain and further deepen the bilateral cooperation relationship between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and its partners, which are Chinese universities and institutes.
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong introduced to the partners the long tradition of development as well as the outstanding achievements of the School in recent years, from enrollment, training, scientific research, to facilities, increasingly better meeting the learning and research needs of Vietnamese and international students.
Currently, China is Vietnam's largest trading partner, largest import market and second largest export market. In contrast, Vietnam is China's largest trading partner in ASEAN and China's fourth largest trading partner by single country (after the United States, Japan, and South Korea). Developing cooperation between Vietnam and China requires a large number of high-quality human resources, not only fluent in Vietnamese and Chinese, but also knowledgeable about the economy, culture, and society between Vietnam and China.
Deeply aware of the potential, strengths and prospects for cooperation between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and its partners, during the working sessions, the leaders of the schools focused on discussing plans and solutions to further promote cooperation programs in Vietnamese language training for Chinese students, exchange of Vietnamese and Chinese students and graduate students, exchange of lecturers in cooperation programs on research on culture, economy and society between the two countries, coordination in organizing joint seminars and academic exchanges between universities, etc.
On this occasion, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities signed a Cooperation Agreement with Guangxi University and Nanning Vocational Technical College, and thoroughly discussed key issues to continue signing Cooperation Agreements with Guangxi Normal University, Hu Xiangsi Academy, etc.

VNU-USSH delegation works at Ho Tuong Tu Academy, Guangxi University for Nationalities In addition to visiting schools and institutes, the delegation of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities attended activities within the framework of the 2023 China-ASEAN Vocational Education Exhibition and Forum held in Guangxi from September 16 to 17.
Originating as the "China-ASEAN Vocational Education Forum" which was launched in 2012 to build a platform for cooperation and exchange between China and ASEAN on vocational education, promoting the high-quality development of China-ASEAN vocational education, up to now, the Ministry of Education of China and the People's Government of the Zhuang Autonomous Region (Guangxi) have successfully organized 6 China-ASEAN Vocational Education Exhibitions and Forums in Nanning City, Guangxi with 81 cooperation agreements signed between colleges and universities of China and ASEAN countries.
Many ministers and more than 240 senior education officials from ASEAN countries, 1,500 education experts from more than 500 universities and colleges, and more than 1,700 education experts from 550 universities and colleges in China attended the 2023 China-ASEAN Vocational Education Exhibition and Forum.
The Exhibition and Forum is a place for delegates from China and ASEAN to share experiences in vocational training combining theory with practice, and is also an opportunity for training institutions to meet and connect to cooperate in promoting the internationalization process in education.
Starting from 2023, the ASEAN-China Joint Forum and Exhibition on Vocational Education will be renamed the “ASEAN-China Vocational Education Cooperation and Development Conference” to match the scale of the event and cover the key areas that schools are aiming for.
