During the meeting, representatives from both institutions exchanged views on the wide-ranging opportunities for cooperation in training and research between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and the Korea Research Institute, University of New South Wales.
According to Dr. Seung-Ho Kwon, as a leading university in training and research in the social sciences and humanities in Vietnam and the region, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi, shares many similar viewpoints in cooperating with activities that KRI is interested in.

During the meeting, Dr. Seung-Ho Kwon extended an invitation to Professor Hoang Anh Tuan and representatives from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, to attend the 2024 International Public Policy Conference themed “Strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Korea and ASEAN for Shared Future Development”. Scheduled for August 2024, the conference will serve as a strategic forum for senior policymakers, scholars, and policy analysts from Korea and ASEAN countries to promote in-depth policy discussions on Korea and ASEAN's efforts to strengthen partnerships in areas such as diplomacy, socio-cultural exchange, and overall economic growth. This also provides an opportunity for leaders from universities belonging to the Association of Universities Studying Korea in Southeast Asia (KoSASA) to meet and discuss strategies for the innovation and development of KoSASA, the development trends of modern social sciences and humanities in general, and Korean studies in particular.
The conference is expected to be attended by more than 100 delegates, including policymakers, researchers, and senior policy analysts from ASEAN, South Korea, and Australia.

Previously, KRI in particular, and Korean government agencies and international organizations in general, had collaborated extensively with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi - a pioneering university in Korean studies training and research in Vietnam - in various fields such as organizing seminars, providing scholarships, and inviting experts to participate in roundtables on educational development policies and strategies.
