Journal of Social Sciences and HumanitiesThe VNU Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU JOSSH), established on August 31, 2015, has the international standard ISSN: 2354-1172. To date, the journal has been included by the State Council for Professor Titles in the list of journals eligible for points awarded to publications in 8 disciplinary and interdisciplinary Councils for Professor Titles.
In his opening remarks at the Conference of Contributors to the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, acknowledged that over the past nearly 10 years, the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities has made significant contributions to the scientific research activities of the university in particular, as well as to the field of social sciences and humanities in general. Professor Hoang Anh Tuan expressed his gratitude to the scientists from VNU-USSH and other domestic and international research and training units for their contributions to the development of the Journal. Professor Hoang Anh Tuan hoped that the scientists would continue to collaborate to internationalize the journal, bringing JOSSH to a regional and international level.

Accordingly, VNU JOSSH has a high scientific quality that is well-regarded by experts, its article submission, editing, and author communication processes are close to international standards, and the journal has had a positive influence on the scientific research community.

A 10-year journey of supporting the research activities of faculty and students.Looking back at the development journey and highlights of the past nearly 10 years of the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities, Professor Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Editor-in-Chief of the Journal - said that many domestic and international scientists, especially Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh, Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Associate Professor Dr. Vu Van Quan, etc., have made important contributions to the development of the Journal. In 2019, the Journal joined the Vietnam Journalists Association as a branch directly under the Vietnam Journalists Association.
Since 2016, the Journal has published four issues in Vietnamese and two issues in English per year, each with a maximum of 200 pages and a circulation of 500 copies (from April 2016 onwards, the circulation has been 400 copies per issue). Each year, the Journal also publishes two to three special issues.
Editor-in-Chief, Professor Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, presented a report on the outstanding activities of the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities over the past 10 years.
The Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities has actively supported the scientific research and training activities of faculty and postgraduate students, such as assisting in the publication of high-quality articles as committed in scientific projects; selecting and promptly introducing papers and articles at scientific conferences; and publishing articles by postgraduate students that meet scientific requirements. The quality of articles, printing, and presentation of the Journal has been continuously improved, and the promotion and dissemination of the Journal both domestically and internationally has been given importance. Information on articles is updated in many domestic and international scientific databases.
In this new phase, the Journal continues to maintain and improve its quality, gradually developing to become a prestigious international journal. Towards this goal, the Journal plans to undertake several key tasks, especially expanding the network of domestic and international scientists participating in writing and reviewing articles for the journal. The Journal is also urgently completing procedures and upgrading its website and management software so that the process of submitting, receiving, reviewing, and publishing articles can be conducted online according to the standards of prestigious journals worldwide.
At the conference, many valuable opinions from reputable scientists in the field of social sciences and humanities were shared, with the expectation that the VNU-JOSSH Journal will not only be a prestigious scientific publication domestically but also approach international standards.
Professor Vu Minh Giang emphasized that the Journal needs to increase the number and improve the quality of international research papers, increase the participation of foreign scientists... based on state regulations and rules, creating conditions for investment so that the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities can reach a global level.
