Student scientific research conference in response to World Intellectual Property Day April 26

Towards World Intellectual Property Day on April 26 every year, on the morning of April 20, 2024 at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH); The Faculty of Management Science coordinated with the Intellectual Property Office to organize a Student Scientific Research Conference.
Attending the Conference on behalf of the Faculty of Management Science, VNU-USSH were Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Manh Dung - Head of the Faculty; Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi - Deputy Head of the Faculty; many officers and lecturers from the Department of Intellectual Property and Public Policy.
On behalf of the Intellectual Property Office, there was Ms. Trinh Thu Hai - Deputy Director of the Center for Research, Training and Consulting Support.
The conference was also attended by representatives of universities and research institutes: Dr. Truong Hong Hai - Vice President, Director of the Institute of Economic Law, Hanoi University of Finance and Banking; MSc. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Deputy Director of the Institute of Economic Law, Deputy Head of the Department of Specialized Law, Hanoi University of Finance and Banking; MSc. Do Tien Dat, MSc. Pham Thi Diem Thi - Hanoi Law University; MSc. Nguyen Thi Huong Giang - Academy of Policy and Development, Ministry of Planning and Investment; Lawyer Nguyen Huong Giang - Representative of the Foreign Affairs Department - Vietnam Intellectual Property Association; MSc. Pham Van Kien - Representative of BigPro Company (a unit operating in the field of intellectual property).
In particular, the conference attracted the participation of more than 70 students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi Law University, Academy of Policy and Development, and Hanoi University of Finance and Banking.
The Conference Organizing Committee received 25 reports on student scientific research results on the topic of intellectual property in Vietnam: current situation, solutions and international experiences; in which the majority were reports from students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (with 18 reports).
Within the framework of the Conference, the Organizing Committee selected a number of excellent reports to present directly at the conference hall. The content of the scientific reports revolved around issues of copyright protection and enforcement and contemporary issues of intellectual property protection and enforcement in the world and in Vietnam; proposing many specific solutions to bring the Intellectual Property Law into practice. The presentations received many lively and open discussions from scientists, managers, experts in the field of intellectual property and a large number of students from universities.
At the end of the conference, the Organizing Committee selected 06 outstanding student scientific topics to award the Student Scientific Research Award on the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day April 26, 2024:
1. First prize belongs to the group of authors Nguyen Hoang Lan Anh - Institute of Economic Law, Hanoi University of Finance and Banking.
2. Second prize belongs to 02 groups of authors:
- Nguyen Thi Phuong Oanh, Le Bao Ngoc - Institute of Journalism and Communication Training & Faculty of Management Science, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU;
- Nguyen Thanh Van, Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung, Trinh Thu Trang - Faculty of Civil Law, Hanoi Law University.
3. Third prize goes to 03 groups of authors:
- Tran Thi Thanh Tam, Nguyen Thi Nhung, Nguyen Thi Thuy, Ha Thi Phuong Thao - Faculty of Economic Law, Academy of Policy and Development, Ministry of Planning and Investment;
- Hoang Thi Lan Anh, Ta Hoang Nam, Le Thi Vy - Faculty of Management Science, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU;
- Dao Hue Anh, Pham Minh Anh, Le Bao Ngoc - Faculty of Civil Law, Hanoi Law University.

The Scientific Conference on Intellectual Property has ended with many successes and meanings, which shows the interest in learning and in-depth research of students on the current status of intellectual property rights enforcement in Vietnam, at the same time suggesting many issues that need to be further researched on practical issues of intellectual property. The event also marks the effective and practical cooperation in training and scientific research between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and a number of universities, research institutes, and management agencies on management science, public policy, and intellectual property.
