Speaking at the opening of the seminar, Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Thanh Truong - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, emphasized that 2023 is an important milestone to celebrate the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and France (1973 - 2023), 10 years since the two countries upgraded their strategic partnership. Over the past 50 years, overcoming all historical changes, the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and France has become increasingly strong, deepened, and comprehensive, rich and effective cooperation in all fields, including cooperation activities in archiving.
“The exchange of archival documents currently preserved in the national archives of the two countries, the organization of exhibitions of archival documents related to the history of Vietnam and France, the construction of a joint website to introduce archival documents... are vivid manifestations of the meaningful cooperative relationship between the two countries of Vietnam and France in sharing archives of memories of time and history” – Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Thanh Truong shared.

Ms. Nguyen Phuong Ngoc - Director of the Institute of Asian Studies at Aix-Marseille University said that Aix-Marseille University and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU have had many effective and sustainable cooperation activities in research and training in the field of archives and office management, exchange of lecturers and students, support for international publication of research results, formation of many training cooperation programs, and scientific seminars over the past many years.
According to Ms. Phuong Ngoc, the seminar held at VNU-USSH is an annual scientific exchange activity between Aix-Marseille University and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, an opportunity for scholars to share solutions to improve the efficiency of exploiting and using archival resources, and to evaluate the possibility of archival cooperation among countries in sharing research information resources about Vietnam.

The seminar program was divided into two sessions, in which speakers focused on introducing, analyzing, evaluating the value, accessibility, and exploitation of archival sources on:
- History of Vietnam - France cooperation;
- Vietnam - France economic cooperation;
- Vietnam - France cultural cooperation.
At the seminar, speakers also gave assessments of the effectiveness of exploiting and using archival sources and the possibility of cooperation between countries in sharing research information sources on Vietnam - France relations.
The seminar has become a forum to promote to international friends the achievements of archival research in Vietnam; the Department of Archival Science and Office Administration, as the leading center for archival research and training in Vietnam, will be the unit connecting experts and scientists to continue developing research directions on Archival Document Resources on the relationship between Vietnam - France, Francophone countries in particular and interdisciplinary research directions, harmoniously combining theoretical and practical factors. This activity contributes to strengthening and further developing scientific cooperation with partners who are leading prestigious universities and research institutes from the French Republic.
Within the framework of the seminar, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized an exhibition of archival documents with the theme "Ho Guom - the crossroads of East and West".
The seminar attracted the attention and participation of many domestic and international scientists.
