The Reading Club is a meeting place for young people who love books and are passionate about reading. By joining the Club, you will have the opportunity to easily access newly published books from Nha Nam Bookstore. You can discuss and give your opinions on the books introduced by the Club. In addition, readers also have the opportunity to interact and exchange directly with editors and translators of the books. From there, readers of the Club can accumulate experience in reading, enrich their knowledge in all fields and orient their future careers.
Vu Thien Thuy Hien - Club President expressed: "The Book Club was established with the aim of creating an academic space for students of Humanities in general and the Faculty of Literature in particular. From there, it will inspire students to read books and foster their passion for enjoying new, good and quality books.”
Currently, the book club's executive board consists of 3 main members: Vu Thien Thuy Hien (Club President), La Thi No (Club Vice President), and Bui Thao (Secretary).
La Thi No (Vice President of the Club) shared: “USSH Book Club is a newly established club so it has not yet had a wide coverage. But with the first book launches, we see the attraction of the club to students. This is an environment that helps students nurture their passion for reading while developing their reading skills, meeting "like-minded souls" and interacting with editors and translators.”.

Since its establishment, the Club has had impressive book launches and book exchange programs. In the second launch, the Book Club introduced to readers the series "Vietnamese masterpieces" republished by Nha Nam with the purpose of "looking at and re-evaluating the true values of the works, as well as the contributions of the authors". The works that were once famous and deeply attached to generations of Vietnamese readers are reproduced as: ""Lucky Number"by Vu Trong Phung, “Missing twelve"by Vu Bang, reportage "Village affairs"by Ngo Tat To, “"Once upon a time"by Nguyen Tuan, “"Early season wind"by Thach Lam. The book "The reader”by Berhard Chlink - a famous German author was introduced in the third launch of the Club. In the 6th book introduction, readers were able to read and talk about detective stories such as: "The Mysterious River”by Dennis Lehane, “White Night Walk"by Higashino Keigo and “In the eternal forests" ofFred Vargas. In particular, in its seventh edition, the Club brought readers authentic experiences of Turkish culture, society and people in the 70s of the 20th century through the novel “Museum of Innocence”by Orhan Pamuk – Nobel Prize-winning writer for Literature.
In particular, in the next program taking place on April 17, 2015, readers had the opportunity to chat with writer Ta Duy Anh - author of famous works such as "Step over the curse”, “old man”, “The countryside is disappearing”... The writer listened to the opinions of readers and enthusiastically shared about his writing career. Coming to the Book Club, students will have many opportunities to meet and interact with “veteran” writers or new writers with outstanding styles.
The club has brought many opportunities for students to learn about works. Student Bui Thi Thao - K57 PedagogyVan confided: “The club has brought many benefits to students. I am updated with new works and can discuss them. This is really a place that helps me be more inspired in reading and find a reasonable and effective way to read.”
The Book Club has just been established so it does not have its own space to interact with readers and store books. In the near future, with the help of Nha Nam Publishing House in conjunction with the Faculty of Literature, the Club hopes to have a location and necessary equipment for managing books and organizing book events.
