New thinking, new ways of doing things.

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a higher education institution with a long and distinguished history. After 20 years of establishment and 70 years of tradition (1945-2015), the University has trained thousands of highly qualified cadres and experts working in central and local agencies, organizations, and businesses across the country. Many research projects by its scientists, lecturers, and staff have contributed to the University's reputation and position, while also providing scientific arguments for protecting national sovereignty and developing strategies and policies for the socio-economic, cultural, and human development of Vietnam in the new context. Due to these unique characteristics, political and ideological education within the University's Party Committee is of particular importance.

In particular, since 2007, the university has implemented a credit-based training system, leading to many changes in the activities of the Youth Union and Student Association. Overcoming difficulties, the Youth Union and Student Association have always considered political and ideological education, and moral and lifestyle education for their members and students, as one of their core activities throughout each academic year. With a mindset of continuous innovation and creativity, combined with practical experience gained over many years, the Youth Union organizes various activities suitable to the needs of young people, while simultaneously fulfilling its core political mission of achieving academic excellence and striving for excellence. Under the guidance of the Party Committee, the Youth Union always identifies the staff of the Youth Union and Student Association at all levels as the core in listening, sharing, exchanging, and guiding information. These members are the best and most effective ambassadors of the Youth Union in each class they participate in. Understanding the sentiments of these "public opinion groups" is also the basis for the Student Union to devise appropriate measures, conveying propaganda and political education content to students in the most engaging and effective way.

The Youth Union and Student Association skillfully integrate the content of "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh" with directives and resolutions of the Party and the Youth Union, as well as propaganda content, into general meetings, classroom activities, collective activities, community activities, meetings between inter-branch unions and associations, or twinning activities with local Youth Union organizations... These contents aim to educate patriotism, awareness of territorial sovereignty, maritime boundaries and national independence; love for national cultural traditions and pride in the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Leveraging the strengths of grassroots units.

To attract students to collective activities, the University Party Committee has established mechanisms to encourage the Youth Union and Student Association to develop professional, cultural, and sports clubs. Over the years, these clubs have generally developed strongly and effectively. The 14 clubs currently organize regular activities and have achieved many outstanding results, such as: Communication and propaganda of culture and history, Vovinam Humanities, Bollywood dance, young writers, and the student blood donation team. In particular, volunteer activities have become more professional, truly engaging and persuasive for Youth Union members and young people. Alongside this, the charitable activities of the University's youth have also achieved good results, creating a significant impact within the overall movement of the Youth Union and Student Association of the National University and the Capital. Furthermore, through the Youth Union and Student Association movements, many students have been trained and will be an important source for Party development.

Thanks to the attention of Party committees and authorities at all levels, and the close coordination between trade unions, veterans' associations, and youth organizations, political and ideological education has truly deepened and unleashed its potential. Among the member institutions of Hanoi National University, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has become a preferred location for higher-level Party organizations to survey and summarize experiences in political and ideological education, especially in the implementation of policies and resolutions on science and technology, education and training… These proactive and positive activities are crucial factors in quickly bringing the content and ideas of the Party's policies and resolutions, as well as the policies and guidelines of the Hanoi City Party Committee, the Hanoi People's Committee, Hanoi National University, and the education sector, to cadres, staff, lecturers, and students.
