At the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the Bachelor's program in Religious Studies, although only launched in 2016, has a long tradition of research and training in Religious Studies dating back to 1976 at the Faculty of Philosophy, Hanoi University. Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi Kim Oanh, Head of the Department of Religious Studies at the University, shared: "Knowledge about religion and beliefs is extremely rich, vibrant, and closely intertwined with our cultural, economic, and social lives. It is a source that nourishes the ideology and spiritual world of humankind, helping us understand the origins and identity of our community and nation. In addition, modern social life is seeing the emergence of new religious and belief phenomena that require explanation and evaluation from a scientific perspective on religion." Therefore, this is an important field of study in Vietnam as well as around the world, and society urgently needs a workforce of university graduates with in-depth knowledge and skills in Religious Studies.
