Comrade Dang Thi Thu Huong, Secretary of the Party Branch for the 2017-2020 term, presented the Political Report.cof the Party Branch of the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training.

In the review of the implementation results of the Party Branch Congress Resolution for the 2017-2020 term, the Congress unanimously agreed on the achievements that the Party Branch had attained, affirming the firm political stance and remarkable development of the Party Branch collective.
In 2018, the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training was established, building the first autonomous training institute model within the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and one of the first models of its kind at Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The unit's Party Committee quickly restructured the Institute's leadership board and its departments, centers, and affiliated units, creating a new development direction for the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training. Currently, the Institute has four departments, facilitating the expansion and development of many new training programs in the field of communication. During the past term, the Institute admitted four PhDs (three of whom received their degrees abroad), and one PhD was awarded the title of Associate Professor.
The Institute of Journalism and Communication Training is one of the most dynamic units, playing a pioneering role in research and development of various training programs, building new training programs, and innovating in its admission methods. The Institute offers three undergraduate programs: Standard Journalism, High-Quality Journalism (under Circular 23), and Public Relations. It is also one of the few units in the University responsible for four Master's programs. These new programs all bear the mark of creativity, pioneering spirit, and strong appeal to society. Therefore, the number of students, trainees, and researchers at the Institute consistently ranks among the highest in the entire University. The message "Enter to Learn, Leave to Achieve" is a guiding principle throughout many activities of the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training, not only encouraging students' learning spirit but also promoting the quality of training to employers.

Currently, the Institute's staff are implementing numerous scientific projects under the National Program, State-level projects, VNU-level projects, University-level projects, Nafosted Fund projects, and many other funds... Each year, the Institute's staff publish more than 60 scientific papers at domestic and international scientific conferences and specialized journals. During the past term, the Institute had 6 internationally published papers, including 3 listed in ISI/Scopus journals, 1 monograph in English, and compiles 2-3 monographs annually...
The Party branch consistently enhances the pioneering and exemplary role of its members, building a strong branch and promoting the comprehensive leadership role of the Party committee over the unit. The Party branch leads mass organizations according to the principles of democracy, consultation, and respect in the activities of the departmental trade union, the staff youth union, the liên chi đoàn (federation of youth unions), and the liên chi hội (federation of student associations). The Institute's trade union, liên chi đoàn, and liên chi hội have achieved numerous top awards in collective activities and received commendations at various levels.
Faced with the new demands of political, ideological, and professional tasks placed upon the Party Branch and each Party member, the Party Branch of the Institute of Broadcasting and Communication Training always promotes its direct and comprehensive leadership role in all aspects of the unit's work, fostering a spirit of initiative, creativity, and self-responsibility in each individual. The Party Branch of the Institute of Broadcasting and Communication Training is united, dynamic, and creative, constantly setting new goals to conquer and elevate its position in the development process.

The Congress incorporated many lively and heartfelt discussions from Party members to supplement and refine the content of the summary of the 2017-2020 term and the work direction for the 2020-2022 term of the Party Branch, as well as the draft Political Report of the 28th Party Congress of the University and the draft documents to be submitted to the 13th National Party Congress.
The Party Committee of the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training recognizes the challenges in the new development context. These include the pressure on journalism and communication training in the context of autonomy and the trend towards research universities; the challenge of financial autonomy requirements for media organizations according to the Vietnam Journalism Development Plan 2015-2020; and the fierce competition in journalism and communication training with the expansion of training institutions in the field of communication nationwide.

In this context, the Party Committee has identified opportunities for the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training to set forth key tasks and breakthrough solutions for the coming period. The operational goal for the 2020-2022 term is: to continue to leverage internal strengths and collective power, maintain unity and stability, capitalize on advantages, overcome difficulties, and build and develop the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training in depth and towards standardization and modernization of all aspects of work within the overall development of the University, following the direction of a research university. The Party Committee's action slogan for the 2020-2022 term is: "Dynamic – Creative – United – High Quality".

Comrade Pham Quang Minh, Deputy Secretary of the School's Party Committee, delivered a speech at the Congress.

In the task of enhancing the Party's leadership role and Party building, the Party branch determined that political and ideological education must always go hand in hand with the implementation of the collective and individual Party member's political tasks. Furthermore, political and ideological education must precede and pave the way for the implementation of the Party's policies and guidelines, especially for difficult, complex tasks or at pivotal moments for the unit. The staff is being strengthened in number and gradually standardized to align with the Institute's development strategy. The autonomy mechanism will create conditions for the Institute to propose new training programs and socialize according to the unit's specific characteristics. Discussions focused on solutions such as: improving the efficiency of the Departments; promoting scientific research and international publications; increasing the number of distinctive training products to create a competitive advantage; Elevating the Institute's standing by expanding in-depth cooperation with experts, press management agencies, and reputable domestic and international media organizations; promoting the role and positive contributions of student party members in the overall development of the Party Branch...
