The congress was attended by comrade Pham Quang Minh - Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee, comrade Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, comrade Nguyen Thi Mai Lan - Chief of the Party Committee Office and 28 party members in the Party Cell of the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training.
Comrade Dang Thi Thu Huong, Secretary of the Party Cell for the 2017-2020 term, presented the Political Report.cof the Party Cell of the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training.
In the part of evaluating the results of implementing the Resolution of the Party Congress for the term 2017 - 2020, the Congress highly agreed on the achievements that the Party Cell had achieved, affirming the steadfast political will and remarkable development steps of the Party Cell.
In 2018, the Institute of Journalism and Communication was established, building the first autonomous training institute model in the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, one of the first models of Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The Party cell of the unit quickly consolidated the Institute's Board of Directors and the Departments, Centers and affiliated units, creating a new development orientation for the Institute of Journalism and Communication. Currently, the Institute has 04 departments, creating conditions for many new training majors in the field of communication to be expanded and newly built. In the past term, the Institute admitted 4 more PhDs (3 PhDs trained abroad), 01 PhD was awarded the title of Associate Professor.
The Institute of Journalism and Communication is one of the dynamic units, taking on a pioneering role in research and development of training types, building new training programs and being creative in admission methods. The Institute implements 03 undergraduate training programs: Standard Journalism, CLC Journalism according to Circular 23 and Public Relations. The Institute is also one of the few units in the University in charge of 4 Master's programs. The new programs all bear the mark of creativity, pioneering and great attraction to society. Therefore, the number of students, trainees and researchers of the Institute is always among the highest in the whole University. The message "Enter to Learn, Leave to Achieve" is the message throughout many activities of the Institute of Journalism and Communication, not only encouraging the learning spirit of students, but also promoting the training quality of the unit to employers.
Currently, the Institute's staff are implementing many scientific topics under the National Program, State-level topics, VNU-Hanoi-level topics, University-level topics, Nafosted Fund and many other Funds... Each year, the Institute's staff publish more than 60 scientific articles at domestic and international scientific conferences and specialized journals. During the past term, the Institute had 6 international publications, including 3 articles in the ISI/Scopus journal list, 1 monograph in English, and compiles 2-3 monographs each year...
The Party cell always promotes the pioneering and exemplary role of Party members and cadres, builds a strong Party cell, and promotes the comprehensive leadership role of the Party cell committee for the unit. The Party cell leads mass organizations according to the principles of democracy, respectful discussion in the activities of the Departmental Trade Union, Cadre Union, Union and Student Union. The Institute's Trade Union, Union and Student Union have won many top awards in collective activities and awards at all levels.
Faced with new requirements of political, ideological and professional tasks for the Party Cell and each Party member, the Party Cell of the Institute of Training of Journalism and Information Technology always promotes the role of direct and comprehensive leadership in all aspects of the unit's work, the spirit of initiative, creativity and self-responsibility of each individual. The Party Cell of the Institute of Training of Journalism and Information Technology is united, dynamic and creative, constantly setting new goals to conquer and enhance its position in the development process.
The Congress received many enthusiastic and enthusiastic discussions from Party members to supplement and perfect the content of the summary of the 2017-2020 term and the working direction for the 2020-2022 term of the Party Cell and the draft Political Report of the 28th Congress of the School Party Committee and the draft documents to be submitted to the 13th Congress of the Party.
The Party Cell of the Institute of Journalism and Communication clearly recognizes the challenges in the new development context. That is the pressure of the journalism and communication training industry in the context of the autonomous mechanism and the trend of developing research universities. That is the challenge of the requirement of financial autonomy at press agencies according to the Vietnam Press Plan 2015-2020. Along with that is the fierce competition in journalism and communication training with the expansion of training facilities in the field of communication across the country...
In that context, the Party Cell has identified opportunities for the Institute of Journalism and Communication to set out key tasks and breakthrough solutions in the coming time. The operational goals of the 2020-2022 term are: to continue to promote internal strength and collective strength, maintain solidarity and stability, promote advantages, overcome difficulties to build and develop the Institute of Journalism and Communication in depth and in the direction of standardization and modernization of all aspects of work in the overall development of the School in the direction of a research university. The Party Cell's slogan for the 2020-2022 term: "Dynamic - Creative - Solidarity - High quality".

In the task of enhancing the leadership role of the Party and the work of Party building, the Party Cell determines that political and ideological education work always goes hand in hand with the implementation of political tasks of the collective and each Party member. Not only that, political and ideological education work must also go ahead, paving the way for the implementation of the Party's policies and guidelines, especially for difficult and complicated tasks or at turning points of the unit. The staff is consolidated in number and gradually standardized to suit the development strategy of the Institute. The autonomy mechanism will create conditions for the Institute to propose new training majors, socialization according to the characteristics of the unit. The comments focused on solutions such as: improving the operational efficiency of the Departments; promoting scientific research activities, international publications; increasing typical training products, creating distinct strengths; Enhance the position of the Institute by expanding in-depth cooperation with experts, press management agencies, prestigious domestic and foreign press and media agencies; promote the role and positive contributions of student party members in the overall development of the Party Cell...
The Party Committee for the 2020-2022 term was introduced to the Congress
On behalf of the Party Committee, comrade Pham Quang Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, acknowledged and highly appreciated the outstanding achievements that the Party Cell of the Institute of Journalism and Communication has achieved. In the past 5 years, the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training is one of the units that has made the most positive and strong changes, in line with the general development trends of the School, the field of journalism and communication and the whole society. According to the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, in the coming term, the Party Cell of the Institute of Journalism and Communication needs to continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, creativity, and pioneering capacity in training, research and university administration, specify the goals and directions, and propose breakthrough tasks in the development strategy of the Institute of Journalism and Communication.
