Party Branch Congress of the Faculty of International Studies: Determined to successfully implement the Resolution of the Congress for the 2020-2022 term.

Attending the Faculty's Party Branch Congress were Comrade Nguyen Van Kim - Secretary of the Party Committee, and Comrade Vu Van Quan - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Head of the Professional Department.

On behalf of the Presidium, Comrade Hoang Khac Nam - Secretary of the Party Branch of the Faculty of International Studies - presented the Political Report summarizing the 2017-2020 term and outlining the direction and tasks for the 2020-2022 term. Under the leadership and guidance of the University's Party Committee, and recognizing its role as the leading force in implementing the unit's tasks during the past term, the Party Branch Committee of the Faculty of International Studies, together with the unit's staff, cadres, party members, and employees, has leveraged advantages, overcome difficulties, and successfully completed assigned tasks as well as the targets set by the Party Branch Congress. In addition, the Report also pointed out limitations, shortcomings, and lessons learned; and simultaneously determined the direction, goals, and tasks for the 2020-2022 term.

At the congress, delegates also heard presentations and discussed and commented on the draft Political Report to be presented at the Congress of Delegates of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for the 2020-2025 term, and the four summaries of documents to be presented at the 13th National Congress of the Party. The congress unanimously agreed with the results of implementing the Party branch's resolution for the 2017-2020 term.

In his address at the Congress, Comrade Nguyen Van Kim - Secretary of the University's Party Committee - acknowledged and commended the achievements of the Party branch of the Faculty of International Studies during the 2017-2020 term. Comrade Nguyen Van Kim emphasized the outstanding achievements of the Party branch: maintaining a high number of postgraduate students and researchers; despite having a relatively small number of staff, the role and research quality of many lecturers and staff members are highly regarded in the scientific community; the Party branch's organizational and staff training work is carried out systematically, and the branch has also perfected the training structure within the unit.

While generally agreeing with the Party Branch's direction and tasks for the 2020-2022 term, Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Kim suggested that immediately after the Congress, the Party Branch should develop a detailed and practical action plan to implement the Congress Resolution.

Comrade Nguyen Van Kim also suggested that the Party branch of the Faculty of International Studies should pay attention to the following tasks: focusing on more thorough leadership in all aspects of activities; doing a good job in Party development; having a strategy, identifying opportunities and focusing on standardizing the academic titles and degrees of the staff to further affirm the role and position of the unit in the field of international relations research; further promoting good, creative research ideas and good research methods from doctoral and master's students; selecting attractive, up-to-date, modern and applied research issues to build community-oriented research...

The Congress proceeded to elect the Party Committee, Secretary, and Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch by secret ballot and introduced the Party Committee for the 2020-2022 term, consisting of 2 members. Accordingly, Comrade Hoang Khac Nam was re-elected as Secretary of the Party Branch and Comrade Ngo Tuan Thang was elected as Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch for the 2020-2022 term.

The Congress elected four full party members to attend the 28th Party Congress of the University and adopted the Congress Resolution. 100% of party members approved the targets set forth in the Congress Resolution.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Party Committee for the 2020-2022 term, Party Secretary Hoang Khac Nam thanked the Congress for its trust and expressed confidence that, with the leadership and guidance of the School's Party Committee and the tradition of unity, dynamism, and creativity of the Party members in the unit, the Party branch will successfully carry out its tasks in the coming period.

Comrade Hoang Khac Nam called on all cadres and Party members to strive and compete to achieve accomplishments, making practical contributions to the successful implementation of the tasks set forth in the Resolution of the Party Congress for the 2020-2022 term.
