Foreign students bustling at New Year's party

On December 30, 2014, at Le Van Thiem Hall, more than 200 staff, postgraduate students and foreign students of VNU had an exchange session with many emotions and joy at the International Student Meeting Program on the occasion of New Year 2015.

International and Vietnamese students brought a vibrant atmosphere to the year-end party with colorful performances. Lao students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities brought a performance.Lao Traditional Dancepassionate, sweet and full of national identity. International students of the International Francophone Institute had a vibrant performance with a medleySong of friendship. Vietnamese students shared their love for their homeland and country through songs with lyrical folk melodies. The program concluded with famous international songs about love and friendship, easily connecting all students, regardless of nationality and skin color, in a joyful atmosphere filled with joy on the threshold of the new year 2015.

VNU currently has more than 850 international students studying short-term and long-term courses in many training programs. The international student community at VNU is one of the factors contributing to the brand of a leading university center in the country, making rapid progress in the process of international integration to become a typical university center in the region.

This is also the first year that VNU has organized the International Student Meeting Program on the occasion of the New Year to create opportunities for international students and Vietnamese students to exchange and strengthen friendship. The program is not only a good wish from VNU to foreign students studying and researching here on the occasion of the New Year, but also contributes to creating a unique mark and style in the student movement of VNU.

Congratulating the international students at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Son (Vice President of VNU) said: VNU feels happy and honored to have international students from many countries and regions here. You are the ones who seek knowledge but also the messengers of friendship, peace, cooperation and friendship among nations. VNU always has special attention to you and hopes that in the future, when you complete your studies and return to your country, you will contribute to multiplying the values ​​that VNU is striving for and cultivating.

On behalf of the international student community at VNU, Ko Yun Ah (Korean student, course QH-2012E, Faculty of Business Administration, University of Economics) shared her emotional thoughts at the exchange night: “I am very happy and proud to attend the 2015 International Student Meeting Program of VNU. This will be a meaningful gift and an unforgettable memory for me and my friends. I always feel that I am studying and training in a truly international environment, with good opportunities to develop both language and professional knowledge.”.

Ko Yun Ah added that at GNU, she is always enthusiastically supported in her studies and in life. In life, she has good friends, close and friendly teachers. Extracurricular activities for students, including club activities, competitions, volunteer activities... are very exciting and attractive, attracting international students to participate regardless of nationality... These factors have helped Ko Yun Ah adapt very quickly to the new environment, quickly falling in love with this university and Vietnam.

I am happy to realize that my decision to become a student at VNU was absolutely correct. I hope that after graduating from university, I will continue to work at VNU, in Vietnam. This has truly become my second home. I would like to thank my teachers and friends!" - Ko Yun Ah said at the exchange night.
