International students enthusiastically celebrate the New Year.

On December 30, 2014, at the Le Van Thiem Hall, more than 200 faculty members, postgraduate students, and international students of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, had a joyful and emotional exchange at the International Student Meeting Program to celebrate the New Year 2015.

International students and Vietnamese students brought a vibrant atmosphere to the year-end party with colorful performances. Lao students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities presented a performance.Traditional Lao danceCaptivating, sweet, and deeply rooted in national identity. International students of the International Institute of Francophone Studies then delivered a vibrant performance with a medley of songs.Song of FriendshipVietnamese students shared their love for their homeland through folk-inspired, lyrical songs. The program concluded with famous international songs about love and friendship, easily uniting all students, regardless of nationality or race, in a joyful atmosphere on the eve of the New Year 2015.

Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) currently has over 850 international students enrolled in short-term and long-term courses across various training programs. This international student community is one of the factors contributing to the brand of a leading university in the country, making rapid progress in international integration to become a leading university center in the region.

This is also the first year that Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) has organized a New Year's gathering for international students, aiming to create opportunities for the international student community and Vietnamese students to interact and strengthen friendship. The program is not only a New Year's greeting from VNU to foreign students studying and researching here, but also contributes to building a unique identity and style within VNU's student movement.

Congratulating the international students at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Kim Son (Vice Director of VNU Hanoi) stated: VNU Hanoi is pleased and honored to have the presence of international students from many countries and regions here. You are not only seekers of knowledge but also ambassadors of friendship, peace, cooperation, and camaraderie among nations. VNU Hanoi always pays special attention to you and hopes that after completing your studies and returning to your home countries, you will contribute to multiplying the values ​​that VNU Hanoi is striving to cultivate.

On behalf of the international student community at VNU, Ko Yun Ah (a Korean student, class of QH-2012E, Faculty of Business Administration, University of Economics) shared her heartfelt thoughts at the exchange night:I am very happy and proud to participate in the 2015 New Year's International Student Gathering Program of Vietnam National University, Hanoi. This will be a meaningful gift and an unforgettable memory for me and my friends. I always feel that I am studying and training in a truly international environment, with great opportunities to develop both my language skills and specialized knowledge."

Ko Yun Ah added that at Vietnam National University, she always receives enthusiastic support in her studies and in her life. She has good friends and close, friendly teachers. Extracurricular activities, including club activities, competitions, and volunteer work, are vibrant and engaging, attracting international students regardless of nationality. These factors helped Ko Yun Ah adapt quickly to the new environment and rapidly develop a love for the university and Vietnam.

"I am delighted to realize that my decision to become a student at Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) was absolutely the right one. After graduating, I hope to continue my involvement and work at VNU in Vietnam. It has truly become my second home. Thank you to all my teachers and friends!"—Ko Yun Ah stated at the exchange event.
