Among the 35 students receiving scholarships for the 2023-2024 academic year, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU-USSH) has 6 students:

4. Dinh Van Hung (4th year student, majoring in Korean Studies)

6. Bui Minh Thuy (3rd year student, International Studies)

To receive the scholarship, in addition to excellent academic results and good training results, students must also actively participate in scientific research, Youth Union - Association activities, social and community activities. In addition to the academic record, students must have an essay about the Pony Chung Scholarship Program, Korea, expressing their desire to participate in the student exchange program/master's training program at Korea University, Korea.

After 16 years of implementation, the Pony Chung Scholarship Fund has awarded nearly 500 scholarships to outstanding students of VNU with a total value of 258,000 USD. As of the 2023-2024 academic year, 16 VNU students have received scholarships to study for a master's degree at Korea University, completed their studies, received their master's degrees, and returned to Vietnam to work. In addition, the 1-year exchange program at Korea University is for students majoring in Korean Language and Culture at VNU. Up to now, 11 students have participated and completed it successfully.
Up to now, nearly 100 excellent students from many majors at VNU-USSH have won this scholarship.
The scholarship is not only a reward but also a timely encouragement and support for the excellent young intellectuals of VNU, who are full of aspirations, ambitions and enthusiasm for dedication, to have better conditions for studying, practicing and researching. Many former students who have received the Pony Chung Scholarship have been working in important positions in a number of large enterprises and economic groups in Vietnam. Thanks to the support of the Pony Chung Scholarship Fund, many students of VNU, Hanoi have more conditions to study, conduct scientific research and achieve good results. After graduating, many of them have matured in many different fields, some continue to study/research at a higher level, some work in state agencies, some do business, some work abroad...
Sharing the joy of receiving the scholarship, Bui Minh Thuy (student of the Faculty of International Studies, VNU-USSH) confided: “The scholarship is a valuable gift, helping me to pay for my own living expenses this school year, reducing the financial burden on my family. At the same time, receiving the Pony Chung scholarship will give me the opportunity to receive funding from the Fund for my Master's degree at Korea University - one of the largest universities in Korea and the world's leading universities, when my family's financial conditions do not allow me to realize my dream of studying abroad. This study will be a preparation for my future career, fulfilling my dream of reaching out to the world, giving me more opportunities to develop myself, learn and experience, and change my living conditions so that my family can be better.
The Pony Chung Scholarship is one of the prestigious and valuable scholarships, awarded to those who know how to make efforts and strive to improve. And I have been trying my best every day. I thank the teachers at the Faculty of International Studies and the University for always accompanying and helping me to achieve good academic results and have the joy I have today". Student Bui Minh Thuy was awarded the highest academic achievement in the QH-2021-X Standard Course, Faculty of International Studies, academic year 2021-2022. In addition to her excellent academic results in the 2022-2023 school year, Minh Thuy also won the Encouragement Prize for Student Scientific Research at the Faculty level in the 2022-2023 school year; the Cooperation Prize of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Research Competition with the Diplomatic Academy and the Academy of Journalism and Communication organized by VNU-USSH in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; actively participating in the Youth Union - Association and volunteer activities of the Faculty and the University.
