In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities emphasized: "On September 2, 1945, at Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. In that victory, the Vietnamese revolutionary press played a special role: it was the flame that ignited patriotism, it was the forum to rally forces, it was a sharp ideological weapon". Prof. Tuan said that this exhibition not only recreates history but also evokes the responsibility of the younger generation in preserving and promoting the sacred heritage of their ancestors.
Entering the exhibition space, viewers seem to relive the historic autumn atmosphere of 1945 through 10 large panels designed throughout. Revolutionary journalism from the beginning, founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc, is prominently displayed with newspapers such as Le Paria, Thanh Nien, Tranh Dau, Lao Dong, Co Vo San... - considered "sharp weapons" on the ideological front.
The exhibition space also recreates the seething revolutionary atmosphere through the newspapers Vietnam Doc Lap, Cuu Quoc, Tien Phong, the calls "Forward!", the calls under the Viet Minh flag; strategic information "Japan - France fighting each other and our actions"; the climax of the August General Uprising; and the historic moment when the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was born, which was enthusiastically reported in the press.
The highlight of the event was also the newspaper covers, sketches, and propaganda paintings celebrating National Day September 2, selected from the collections of journalists and artists, preserving the revolutionary art mark, bringing the public back to the heroic spirit of the early days of the nation's founding.
In addition, visitors can scan QR codes to explore 3D models of cultural and historical works in 34 provinces and cities. The AR virtual reality experience helps the young generation connect vividly with heritage right in the exhibition space.
In particular, 500 copies of “Ngay Nay A80” – a supplement of Ngay Nay Magazine, with a collection of precious documentary photos about the historic Autumn of 1945, restored in color, with a QR code to enjoy the film footage of September 2, 1945, were given to visitors to the exhibition.
