The program was organized by the Trade Union of the Department of Training and Student Affairs, the School Trade Union, the Youth Union, the Student Association of the School with the support of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, VNU; the Institute of Applied Medical Technology (IMT) and the Wellbeing Education Organization. This activity aims to help lecturers and students recognize health situations that require emergency medical assistance and practice some basic first aid skills at the scene.
Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU highly appreciated the practical and professional value of the training program. With the high expertise and dedication of doctors from Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, Hospital E, Hanoi 115 Emergency Center, who are also lecturers of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, VNU, the training program not only provides USSH staff, lecturers and students with knowledge to provide good health care but also equips them with skills to support the community when needed.

At the training session, with high expertise, sense of community responsibility and dedicated guidance, doctors and lecturers of the Department of Emergency Medicine, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, VNU shared theoretical contents such as: emergency cardiac arrest (cardiac compression - basic CPR, using Ambu bag; Using automatic defibrillator outside AED); first aid: Treatment of bleeding and hemostasis (common wounds, dangerous bleeding); treatment of fractures (detection and immobilization of fractures).
In addition, USSH staff, lecturers and students were also introduced to some medical equipment and supplies used in first aid and emergency care at the scene; practiced cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques, stopping external bleeding, and mobilizing broken bones.

Doctors instruct common first aid skills
Previously, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, with the support and cooperation of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, had many health care activities and equipped medical skills for staff, lecturers and students, such as seminars on nutrition and physical fitness, instructions on oral health care and free check-ups for new students, etc. The programs all received high participation and appreciation, contributing to the implementation of the policy of comprehensive health care for staff, lecturers and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in particular and in the whole of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
