Following the course of history 2025: The journey of cultural and historical heritage of Humanistic youth

The annual academic program "Following History" in 2025, hosted by the History Faculty Union, ended with profound impressions, contributing to spreading the passion for history, arousing the academic spirit and awareness of preserving national cultural values ​​among students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU.
Academic activities bearing the "brand" of the Faculty of History
“Following the Stream of History” is an annual academic program organized by the Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU), aiming to spread the love of historical research, arouse the spirit of learning, creativity, and awareness of preserving traditional values ​​among students. After many seasons of organization, the program has become the “brand” of the Faculty of History, marking a typical activity connecting knowledge - emotions - national pride of the youth of the Humanities.
This year, the History Faculty Union is honored to be entrusted by the School Youth Union to be the host unit to organize the program with the theme "Cultural and historical heritage journey", including two rounds:
Round 1: "Searching for historical and cultural traces"
Round 2: “Cultural and historical heritage journey”
With the combination of academic knowledge and practical experience, the program has attracted a large number of students from many faculties and majors in the University to participate, demonstrating the strong influence of the spirit of learning history in the humanities university environment.
Exciting start with the "Search for secret letters" round
On the morning of October 19, 2025, at the National History Museum, the teams entered the first round of the program - "Searching for secret letters". During two hours of intense but exciting competition, students moved throughout the museum grounds to search for 70 secret letters cleverly hidden by the Organizing Committee.

Each secret letter is a knowledge challenge revolving around events, characters and Vietnamese historical and cultural heritage, requiring players to have both extensive knowledge and close coordination within the group to decode. Not only is it an intellectual competition, this is also an opportunity for students to touch the heritage through practical experience, combining study and practice, theory and national cultural life.

Immediately after that, the teams continued to show their creativity through the voting for video clips recording the journey of "searching for historical traces", posted on the Youth History Faculty fanpage and received enthusiastic interactions from the entire student community of the School.
At the end of the round, the Organizing Committee announced 8 excellent teams to advance to the final round, including: Faculty of Political Science, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Faculty of Information - Library, Faculty of Literature, Faculty of History, Faculty of Sociology and Social Work, Faculty of Philosophy and Faculty of Management Science.
Impressive final: “Cultural and historical heritage journey”
On the evening of October 24, 2025, at the 8th floor Hall - Building E, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the final round of the program "Following the History 2025" took place in a solemn and emotional atmosphere. Speaking at the opening of the program, Dr. Pham Ngoc Phuong Thuy - Secretary of the History Faculty Youth Union, representative of the Organizing Committee emphasized: "The theme 'Cultural and Historical Heritage Journey' this year is not only a tribute to the past, but also an opportunity for the young generation to touch the heritage through experience, understand the heritage through knowledge, and spread the heritage with the heart of the new era."
The Organizing Committee representative would like to express deep gratitude to the Faculty of History, Dinh Xuan Lam History Fund, sponsoring and professional support units, and the volunteer student team who accompanied and contributed to the success of the program.

Speaking at the final night, Dr. Nguyen Van Anh - Party Cell Secretary, Head of the History Department expressed his joy and pride in the students' spirit of learning and creativity: "We always believe that history is not only on the pages of books, but also alive in the hearts of young people - those who know how to appreciate the past and use their own energy, emotions, and language to tell history. 'Following the Flow of History' is not just a contest, but a journey of knowledge and emotions - where students can experience, learn, and grow up with the history of the nation."

After exciting and creative competitions, the Organizing Committee announced the final results:
First Prize: Faculty of Oriental Studies
Second Prize: Faculty of Political Science
Third Prize: Faculty of Sociology and Social Work
Encouragement Prize: Faculty of Information and Library

The success of the competition comes not only from the awards but also from the spirit of learning, solidarity and national pride that each team has shown. Each participating student is a “historical storyteller”, contributing to reviving the cultural and historical values ​​of the nation through the creative language of youth. “We believe that 'Following the History 2025' will not stop as a competition, but will become a journey of knowledge - where history is spread through emotions, and heritage is retold by the youth of Humanities students” - Dr. Pham Ngoc Phuong Thuy shared.
Spreading the spirit of scholarship and love of heritage
Closing “Following History 2025”, the program left many deep impressions in the hearts of participants - where knowledge meets emotion, where history is recreated through creativity, and where the youth of Humanities continues the mission of preserving and promoting the national cultural identity.
The competition may have ended, but the spirit of discovery, learning and appreciation of heritage will continue to spread – as an affirmation that: today's Humanities youth are the ones who continue to write the story of tomorrow's history.
