University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi

From June 23-25, 2025, lecturers and scientists from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities participated in and shared their experiences in teaching Korean at the 2025 Training Workshop for Korean Translation and Interpretation Teachers at King Sejong Institute in Vietnam, held in Ho Chi Minh City.

Thao Nhi received a Bachelor's degree with distinction in Korean Studies from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) with a GPA of 3.81/4.0. Her thesis, which received a 9.5 rating, focused on the success of K-pop in the US, with her idol group BTS mentioned as a prime example.

This was the topic discussed at the interdisciplinary academic exchange jointly organized by the Faculty of Linguistics, the Faculty of Oriental Studies, and the Sejong Korean Language Center Hanoi (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-USSH) this morning, June 17, 2025.

The training program in Japan for postgraduate students and researchers in Japanese Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, held in mid-February 2025, was not only an opportunity for students and researchers to expand their academic knowledge but also a chance to promote research cooperation between the Department of Japanese Studies and partner universities and many leading research centers in Japan.

On October 8, 2024, at a ceremony commemorating the 578th anniversary of the promulgation of the Hangeul alphabet system, organized by the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Dr. Luu Tuan Anh, Head of the Korean Studies Department (Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi), was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the President of South Korea.

This activity was organized by the Department of Korean Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, at Trung Gia High School, Soc Son, Hanoi on August 26, 2024.

(SVVN) Having been accepted into two Erasmus Mundus master's programs, Thao Nguyen chose to study sports because she is a fan of Manchester United and the German national team. She is the first Vietnamese student to study the MAiSI program on ethics and integrity in sports in five European countries.

This was the content of the discussion at the thematic talk "Strengthening People-to-People Friendship Exchanges - Connecting Education and Training between Vietnam and India," jointly organized by the Department of Indian Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and the Hanoi Vietnam-India Friendship Association (HAVIFA) on April 10, 2024.

Several research topics by faculty and students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) were presented to the review board of the Journal of Japanese Studies - Hanoi and are scheduled for publication in 2024.
