On December 4 and 5, 2011, the 3rd International Scientific Conference on Vietnam Studies (“Engaging with Vietnam: An Interdisciplinary Dialogue”) took place at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. A scientific workshop with the theme “The impact of the entire urbanization process on rural development: practices and lessons learned” was held on November 30. The workshop is part of the independent state-level project “The impact of the urbanization process on rural development in the period 2011-2020” chaired by Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Ba Thinh.

On November 26, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Institute for Legislative Studies under the National Assembly Standing Committee signed a cooperation agreement. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities respectfully invites scholars to participate in writing articles for the Workshop 'Media Culture in the Integration Period', organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in collaboration with the Vietnam Journalists Association, scheduled to be held on January 10, 2012.

The list of VNU-level science and technology tasks has been approved by the VNU Board of Directors to be included in the 2012 selection plan based on the advice and recommendations of the industry/interdisciplinary council. The task names, research objectives and expected products in this list are the basis for scientists to prepare the explanatory outline for registration in 2012.
