The scientific conference with the theme "Language and Cultural Issues" organized by the Faculty of Linguistics in collaboration with the Hanoi Linguistics Association took place on April 14, 2012 at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

The 2nd Vietnamese Studies and Language Student Scientific Conference was held on March 29, 2012. There were 20 reports presented in two subcommittees. This was the 2nd time that students of the faculty participated in scientific research and reported their research results in front of a large number of teachers and students in the faculty. Many foreign students studying at the faculty also attended and had lively debates.

At the invitation of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, on March 19, 2012, Professor Kikuchi Seiichi (President of the Southeast Asian Archaeological Association) and Professor Ohashi Koji (Showa Women's University, Japan) visited and gave a presentation at the University.

On the morning of March 17, 2012, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Ngoc (Director of the Institute of Vietnamese Studies and Development Sciences - VNU) gave a presentation on the topic "Vietnam's sovereignty over the archipelagos in the East Sea". This presentation is part of the regular scientific program organized by the Center for Intercultural History of the Faculty of History.

Scientific Conference with the theme: "Future research directions" organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in collaboration with Leiden University (Netherlands) and Australian National University for 3 days: March 8, 9, 10, 2012.

Orientation workshop: Developing the curriculum of the subject "Social work with people with disabilities" for undergraduate and postgraduate levels of Social Work was held on February 28, 2012. Attending the workshop were delegates from 17 universities nationwide, research units, social organizations, scientists, and experts from non-governmental organizations.

On February 23, 2012, an international conference with the theme: “Regional Integration: EU and ASEAN Perspectives” was organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in collaboration with the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation (Germany). Attending the conference were scientists from Germany, Belgium, the United States, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector of the University - attended and delivered the opening speech.

On the morning of February 18, 2012, at the Hanoi Opera House, the Ministry of Science and Technology held the Ho Chi Minh Prize and the State Prize for Science and Technology 2010 award ceremony.

Among the 12 Ho Chi Minh Awards and 20 State Awards for Science and Technology this time, the Faculty of History has two awards: one Ho Chi Minh Award for the cluster of works on Vietnamese culture by the late Professor, Meritorious Artist Tran Quoc Vuong, one State Award for the work “Thang Long - Hanoi in the 17th - 18th - 19th centuries” by Associate Professor, Meritorious Artist Nguyen Thua Hy. This is the 5th Ho Chi Minh Award and the 4th State Award that the staff of the Faculty of History has been honored to receive from the State.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Loi (Vietnam Institute of Lexicography and Encyclopedia) affirmed and summarized the scientific values, practical values ​​and scientific impacts ofVietnamese Phoneticsbelong toProf. Dr. Doan Thien ThuatThis is the project awarded the State Prize in 2010. The Award Ceremony will be held on February 18, 2012.

Professor Detlef Briesen (University of Giessen - Germany) gave presentations and discussions on the topic "Development cooperation in the field of regional studies, regional development and sustainability in Europe and Southeast Asia" at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, at the invitation of the Faculty of Political Science.
