On March 24, 2011, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Embassy of Canada in Vietnam jointly organized an international conference with the theme: "Canadian training and research in Vietnam: Opportunities and Prospects".

Commemorating the 1000th anniversary of the passing of National Master Khuong Viet, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, in collaboration with the Buddhist Academy and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, organized the scientific conference "National Master Khuong Viet and Vietnamese Buddhism in the early era of independence", opening on the morning of March 18, 2011.

The second international conference “Vietnam Studies: Approaching interdisciplinary research in the context of globalization” was jointly organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Monash University (Australia) for two days, November 30 – December 1, 2010.

On November 30, the scientific seminar "Promoting Vietnamese intellectual resources to serve the cause of national development in the 21st century" was held at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

The international scientific seminar with the theme "Theoretical foundations of the Left from a Marxist perspective" was held on November 25-26 in Hanoi.

This morning, November 9, 2010, the Faculty of Philosophy organized a presentation on the late Professor Tran Duc Thao with the participation of two French scholars: Jean-Pierre Han and Jean-François Poirier.

Right after President Ho Chi Minh signed the Decree (October 10, 1945) establishing the University of Letters, university education managers demonstrated a timely grasp of the training trends of the times and knew how to absorb them step by step to apply them effectively, in accordance with the country's reality when the August Revolution had just succeeded. That can be clearly seen through the Decree⁽¹⁾November 3, 1945 of the Ministry of National Education on regulations on training programs and training methods at the University of Literature⁽³⁾On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the founding of the University of Letters in Hanoi, we try to sketch out the ideology of university education at that time with its vision of integration and the significance of that ideology for today.
