University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi

On August 25th, a workshop on the state-level independent research project "The Impact of Urbanization on Rural Development in the Period 2011-2020: Theoretical Issues and Methodological Approaches" was held. This project is chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Ba Thinh (Director of the Center for Population and Social Work Research - University of Social Sciences and Humanities).

On June 9, 2011, Professor Ho Tai Tue Tam (Department of History - Harvard University) gave a presentation, exchange, and discussion on methods of writing social history with faculty and students of the university.

On May 17, 2011, the 16th Student Scientific Conference of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for the academic year 2010-2011 was held.

The Organizing Committee cordially invites scientists, experts, and researchers to submit papers for the conference "National Master Khuong Viet and Vietnamese Buddhism in the early era of independence," to be held in March 2011.

A friendly but very frank discussion on the issue of young staff members and scientific research, organized by the university's Youth Union, took place in the auditorium on the 5th floor of building H on the morning of May 12, 2011.

A scientific seminar on the topic "Research and Training Cooperation in Office Management in Universities and Colleges in Vietnam" was organized by the Faculty of Archival Studies and Office Management of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU Hanoi) in collaboration with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU Ho Chi Minh City), Saigon University, Hanoi College of Internal Affairs, and Central College of Pedagogy on May 11th.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's departure to seek a path to national salvation (June 5, 1911 - June 5, 2011), the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the National Political Publishing House, the Ho Chi Minh Presidential Palace Historical Site, and the Ho Chi Minh Museum jointly organized a scientific conference entitled "Ho Chi Minh and the Path to National Liberation" on May 10 at the Ho Chi Minh Museum (Hanoi).

At the invitation of the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation, three faculty members from the University, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Dr. Bui Thanh Nam, and MSc. Pham Quoc Thanh, participated in the International Conference “US-Vietnam Relations: Striving for Stability, 2010-2020” held at the University of Montana (USA) from April 11-13, 2011.

On April 13, 2011, the Faculty of Journalism and Communication held its 2010 Student Scientific Conference. Five topics were presented by student groups at the conference.

On April 8, 2011, the first Student Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language was held. Fifteen research topics were registered by student groups.

On the morning of April 8, 2011, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, in collaboration with the International Faculty (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), the University of Nantes, the University of Angers, and the University of Maine (Republic of France), organized an international conference on "The Contributions of Social Sciences and Humanities to Socio-Economic Development" at the Ministry of National Defence Guest House.

On April 7, 2011, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Agency for Francophone Universities (AUF), the French Institute for Research and Development (IRD), and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences jointly organized a workshop entitled "Psychological Studies: Family Environment, Educational Environment and Child Development".

On April 5, 2011, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Konrad Adenauer Institute (Germany) in Vietnam jointly organized the international conference "The Role of the Private Sector in the Industrialization and Modernization Process in Vietnam".
