On August 25, the independent national-level seminar on the topic “The impact of urbanization on the development of rural areas in the period 2011-2020: Theoretical issues and approaches” was held. This topic was chaired by Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Ba Thinh (Director of the Center for Population Research and Social Work - University of Social Sciences and Humanities).
On June 9, 2011, Professor Ho Tai Tue Tam (Faculty of History - Harvard University) gave a presentation, exchange and discussion on methods of writing social history with staff and students of the School.
The Organizing Committee respectfully invites scientists, experts and researchers to write papers to participate in the conference "National Master Khuong Viet and Vietnamese Buddhism in the early era of independence", which will be held in March 2011.
An intimate but very frank discussion on the issue of young cadres and scientific research, organized by the school's Youth Union at the 5th floor Hall of Building H, took place on the morning of May 12, 2011.
The scientific seminar with the theme "Cooperation in research and training on Office Management in universities and colleges in Vietnam" was chaired by the Department of Archival Science and Office Management, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU), in collaboration with University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU-HCM), Saigon University, Hanoi College of Home Affairs, and Central Pedagogical College on May 11.
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Uncle Ho's departure to find a way to save the country (June 5, 1911 - June 5, 2011), the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the National Political Publishing House, the Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace, and the Ho Chi Minh Museum jointly organized the scientific conference "Ho Chi Minh and the path to national liberation" on May 10 at the Ho Chi Minh Museum (Hanoi).
At the invitation of The Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation, three staff members of the University, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Dr. Bui Thanh Nam and Master Pham Quoc Thanh participated in the International Conference “US-Vietnam Relations: Striving for Stability, 2010-2020” held at the University of Montana (USA) from April 11-13, 2011.
On April 13, 2011, the Faculty of Journalism and Communication organized the 2010 Student Scientific Conference. There were 05 topics presented by student groups at the Conference.
On April 8, 2011, the first Vietnamese Studies and Language Student Scientific Conference was held. There were 15 topics registered for research by student groups.
On the morning of April 8, 2011, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in collaboration with the International Faculty (VNU), Nantes University, Angers University and Maine University (France) organized the international conference “Contributions of Social Sciences and Humanities in Socio-Economic Development” at the Ministry of National Defense Guest House.
On April 7, 2011, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Francophone University Agency (AUF), the French Institute for Development Research (IRD), and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences jointly organized the workshop "Psychological studies: family environment, educational environment and child development".
On April 5, 2011, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Konrad Adenauer Institute (Germany) in Vietnam jointly organized the International Conference “The role of the private economic sector in the industrialization and modernization process in Vietnam”.
