For the Lunar New Year (Tet) of the Rabbit 2011, all students in the university will have a holiday from January 27th to February 7th, 2011. The second semester of the 2010-2011 academic year will begin on Tuesday, February 8th, 2011.

On January 4, 2011, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the Nguyen Truong To Scholarship Award Ceremony – a scholarship program sponsored by the VNHelp California Charitable Foundation and implemented in collaboration with the Vietnam Education Promotion Fund.

On the afternoon of May 25th, the Executive Committee of the Faculty of Tourism's Student Union organized an exchange program on the travel industry, students, and job opportunities. The program was attended by representatives from travel companies in Hanoi and a large number of students from the Faculty of Tourism.

The Student Scientific Research Conference of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for the academic year 2009-2010 was held on May 22, 2010. This was also an opportunity to summarize the achievements of the university's 15-year student scientific research movement (1996-2010).

In March and April 2010, the Faculty-level Student Scientific Research Conferences were successfully held. This year, the entire university had 1172 students participating in scientific research with 707 reports.

To better meet the needs of students, the Library Information Center (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) has extended the opening hours of all reader service areas. This extension will take effect from May 10, 2010.
