Thirty outstanding students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities received scholarships from Doosan Group – South Korea this morning, October 8, 2010.The total value of the scholarships awarded was US$4,000, including 15 Yonkang scholarships (funded by Doosan Group in 1978), totaling US$2,500, specifically for students majoring in Korean Studies; and 15 Doosan Vina scholarships, sponsored by Doosan Vina Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., totaling US$1,500, for students in other majors. On behalf of the university leadership, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Kim Son expressed gratitude to Doosan Vina for supporting the scholarships for the university's students. He also expressed his hope that the cooperative relationship between the university and the enterprise would become even stronger, creating opportunities for students to learn and pursue career paths after graduation.

Established in 2007, Doosan Vina comprises five factories: a boiler factory, a heat recovery system (HRSG) factory, a mechanically engineered heat exchanger (MHE) factory, a desalination plant (DESA) factory, and a concrete pump and concrete plant (CPE) factory. In May 2009, Doosan Vina held its inauguration ceremony and became the only company in Vietnam producing generator sets. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) is one of the first universities in Vietnam to receive scholarships from Doosan Vina. This is the second year that Doosan Vina has awarded scholarships to students of the University.
