On the evening of October 4, 2012, the Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities hosted the Closing Ceremony of the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign and honored the "5 Good Students of VNU" of the 2011-2012 school year.

The Association of War Veterans of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was established on December 22, 2001. Over the years, the Association of War Veterans has participated in many activities of the University and the Association of War Veterans at all levels, always completing its tasks excellently, and has been continuously ranked as an excellent emulation unit by the Hanoi Association of War Veterans. One of the key tasks that the Association always puts at the top is the education of the younger generation.

After 3 working days, on the afternoon of October 3, 2012, the external evaluation team of the University held a summary meeting with the Board of Directors and leaders of the units of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thi Ha - Head of the external evaluation team.

On October 3, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities signed an official cooperation agreement with the University of Commerce, Restaurant, Hotel and Tourism Services under the Budapest University of Economics (Republic of Hungary).

The fall course with the theme “International Politics: Common Challenges in Diverse Contexts: Regional Cooperation in Europe and Asia” has just opened at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities on October 1, 2012.

On September 28, 2012, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Principal of the School signed a decision to appoint MSc. Pham Huy Cuong (specialist of the Department of Politics and Student Affairs) to hold the position of Deputy Head of the Department of Politics and Student Affairs, with a term following the term of the Principal.

On the morning of September 30, 2012, the Faculty of Tourism, University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized a scientific seminar: "Tourism, cuisine and business management issues" at the 5th floor hall of building H.

On the afternoon of September 29, with the support of the Center for Journalism and Media (CMP), a group of students Tra My, Nhat Giang, Thanh Huyen (K54 Journalism and Media) organized an extracurricular activity to exchange journalism skills and introduce the book "Stories outside the file" by writer, journalist, and police officer Dao Trung Hieu.

From August 11 to August 17, 2012, the Vietnam-Korea Friendship Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU) cooperated with Korean charity organizations to participate in volunteer activities in Thanh Hoa, Vietnam.
