On the evening of October 4, 2012, the Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities hosted the Closing Ceremony of the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign and the awarding of "Outstanding Students of Vietnam National University, Hanoi" for the 2011-2012 academic year.

The Veterans Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was established on December 22, 2001. Over the years, the Association has participated in numerous activities of the University and Veterans Associations at all levels, consistently excelling in its duties and receiving the Hanoi City Veterans Association's ranking as an outstanding unit in emulation campaigns. One of the Association's core priorities is the education of the younger generation.

After three days of work, on the afternoon of October 3, 2012, the external evaluation team of the University held a concluding meeting with the Board of Directors and leaders of the units of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thi Ha - Head of the external evaluation team.

On October 3, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities officially signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Commerce, Restaurant, Hotel and Tourism Services under the Budapest University of Economics (Hungary).

The autumn course, themed “International Politics: Common Challenges in Diverse Contexts: Regional Cooperation in Europe and Asia,” commenced at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities on October 1, 2012.

On September 28, 2012, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh – Rector of the University – signed a decision appointing Mr. Pham Huy Cuong (specialist in the Political and Student Affairs Department) as Deputy Head of the Political and Student Affairs Department, for a term coinciding with the Rector's term.

On the morning of September 29, 2012, the Faculty of Journalism and Communication held its opening ceremony for the 2012-2013 academic year.

On the morning of September 30, 2012, the Faculty of Tourism of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized a scientific seminar: “Tourism, Cuisine and Business Management Issues” at the auditorium on the 5th floor of building H.

On the afternoon of September 29th, with the assistance of the Center for Journalism and Communication Professionals (CMP), a group of students including Tra My, Nhat Giang, and Thanh Huyen (K54 Journalism and Communication) organized an extracurricular activity to exchange experiences in journalism and introduce the book "Stories Beyond the File" by writer, journalist, and police officer Dao Trung Hieu.

From August 11th to 17th, 2012, the Vietnam-Korea Friendship Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) collaborated with Korean charitable organizations to participate in volunteer activities in Thanh Hoa, Vietnam.
