Today, July 9, 2012, 3,909 candidates took the Literature exam for Group C at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' Admissions Board. According to observations at exam locations AB, BC, and G of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, many candidates finished their exams earlier than the scheduled time. Most candidates interviewed commented that the exam was of moderate difficulty and closely followed the curriculum.

This morning, July 9th, 2012, during the Literature exam for Group C at 10 examination centers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' University Admissions Council, 3,909 candidates participated, an increase of 7 candidates compared to yesterday's registration. More than 200 exam cards requiring corrections were completed and sent to candidates before the exam this morning.

On the morning of July 10, 2012, 3,862 candidates took the Geography exam – the final subject of the university entrance exam for Group C – at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' Admissions Board. This represents a decrease of 23 candidates compared to the History exam held the previous afternoon. On average, the number of candidates taking all three subjects reached 73.4% of the registered applicants.

Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu (lecturer at the Faculty of History - University of Social Sciences and Humanities) commented on the 2012 university entrance exam in History: “This year's university entrance exam in History was highly comprehensive, covering the basic knowledge of Vietnamese history from 1919-2000 and world history from 1945-2000. The questions were clear and did not trick students.”

On the afternoon of July 9th, 3,892 candidates took the History exam. At exam centers AB, BC, and G of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' admissions council, reporters witnessed many candidates leaving early before the exam time was over. When questioned, the candidates all assessed the exam questions as clear, easy to understand, and containing much basic knowledge, but many candidates were unable to complete the entire exam.

By 12:00 PM on July 8, 2012, 3,902 candidates had registered for the university entrance exam in Group C at the Admissions Council of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), reaching 73.4% of the registered applications.

The National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (NAFOSTED) announces funding for basic research in the social sciences and humanities, commencing in 2013.

On July 3, 2012, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) and Professor Dr. Ngo Ngoc Thang (Director of the Academy of Politics and Administration, Region I) signed a five-year cooperation agreement (2012-2017) between the two institutions.

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities announces the results of the entrance examination for the part-time continuing education program in Archival Studies and Office Management, cohort QH-2012-X, in Hanoi.

On the morning of June 28, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized a training session for staff participating in supervising the 2012 university entrance exam for Group C subjects. The training session was attended by 336 staff members and nearly 100 students and postgraduate students who will be supervising the Group C exams at 7 examination centers in Hanoi run by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
