Hundreds of students and parents received direct advice on the university's undergraduate programs at the Admissions and Career Guidance Fair held on March 13, 2011.This year's event was held at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, Tuoi Tre Newspaper, and Hanoi University of Science and Technology. At the booth of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, prospective students and their families received a handbook on 18 training programs, as well as information on each faculty, admissions group, scholarships, and job opportunities. This information will help future candidates have a complete and comprehensive view and feel more confident before deciding to apply to the University. As in previous years, the University's special programs and training systems always attracted the attention of visitors. For example, the internationally standardized training program in Linguistics, the high-quality training programs in Management Science, History, Philosophy, and Literature, or the French-language Clinical Psychology program… Students admitted to these training systems will receive priority in terms of tuition fees, accommodation, study materials, scholarships, and study abroad opportunities. Furthermore, with dual degree programs, students in some majors will be able to register for a second major at Hanoi National University. At this year's event, students can also learn about various admissions-related issues such as: the latest information on 2011 admissions, admission regulations, exam structure, exam schedule, things to note when taking the exam; admission quotas, cut-off scores, etc. They can also find useful information about studying at university and college levels; student loans; scholarship policies, and tuition fees. This information will help students gain a clearer picture of the university environment and make informed decisions before submitting their applications. In addition to career guidance, students will also receive advice from doctors and psychologists on methods to improve focus and confidence during studying and exams, and how to maintain good health during the exam preparation period. In particular, Vice Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Kim Son directly advised and answered a series of specific questions about each training program as well as job opportunities after studying these fields. This week, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will continue to participate in direct admissions counseling programs on VOV online newspaper and VietNamNet online newspaper.
