Key tasks for March 2011

On March 1st, 2011, a school-wide briefing session, chaired by Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Son - Vice Rector - was held.The conference heard a report from the Board of Directors on the overall situation of work in February and the direction for implementing the key work plan for March 2011. The Board of Directors assessed that the work plan for February 2011 was basically completed according to schedule. Some tasks were not completed, such as: the conference summarizing non-formal training in 2010 and the conference on quality accreditation work had not yet been organized. In addition, the Board of Directors particularly emphasized several key tasks for March 2011 as follows: Party work, organization, propaganda, and mass organizations: Organizing activities to celebrate Youth Month and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; holding a Party Committee meeting on the organizational structure of training disciplines, directing the organization and management of training in some disciplines to meet international standards; organizing the dissemination of the Resolution of the 11th National Party Congress; Summary of Six Programs Aimed at Standardizing and Modernizing the Activities of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities during the period 2003-2010; Implementation of the election of National Assembly and People's Council representatives at all levels. Training, student affairs, quality assurance and inspection: Implementation of the development and completion of training programs according to output standards (CDIO) for Tourism Studies and LTH-QTVP majors; Adjustment of the Strategic Task Plan according to the requirements of VNU Hanoi; Academic review for the first semester, transfer of high-quality program students for the second semester; Organization of the first round of the Academic Advisor Professional Competition; Implementation of preparations for the 2011 regular university entrance examination; Review and award scholarships and social assistance for the second semester of the 2010-2011 academic year for regular program students; Organizing the 2011 Career Guidance and Admissions Fair. Scientific research and international cooperation: Organizing seminars: Vietnamese history in the context of integration and globalization: Theoretical and methodological issues; National Master Khuong Viet and Vietnamese Buddhism in the early era of independence; Organizing the Faculty-level student scientific conference; Conducting the first round of admissions in 2011. Administrative, management and financial work: Upgrading and repairing the transformer station and power grid in the school; Planning the allocation and use of state budget for the first round of 2011; Preparing the budget settlement report for 2010. The Board of Directors noted several tasks that need to be done immediately: - Heads of units should pay attention to the election of National Assembly and People's Council representatives at all levels. - The Faculty of Sociology, in coordination with the Postgraduate Training Department, should plan to promote the Master's program in Social Work. - The Administration Department plans to allocate the computers donated by the Guangxi Provincial Government.
