On March 22, 2011, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a conference on “Training in the process of converting to credit-based training” in Ba Vi – Hanoi. The conference summarized and evaluated the activities of non-formal training, and at the same time deployed directions and tasks in the coming time.Nearly 20 opinions were contributed and discussed at the conference on the main issues: applying positive factors of credit training in VLVH training, ways to organize and implement VLVH training according to the credit training program framework, foreign language teaching, national defense and security education, training facilities, tuition collection at off-campus facilities, teaching remuneration, implementing short-term training to grant certificates at units... Dr. Tran Ngoc Lieu - Head of Training Department - especially emphasized the application of positive factors of the credit training method to VLVH university training such as: building a more concise training program, building a set of learning materials, organizing the teaching process according to the subject outline, testing - evaluating synchronously, in accordance with regulations... In particular, graduation exams with subjects replacing graduation subjects is a new point that needs to be applied to VLVH and will be considered a mandatory regulation in the 2010 - 2011 school year. 2011. Along with that, representatives of the Faculties/Departments also presented papers on the current status of non-formal training, solutions to improve the quality of training in the VHVL system of each unit. The Department of Archival Science and Office Administration made recommendations to improve the quality and effectiveness of non-formal training: it is necessary to systematically issue documents related to non-formal training, increase the payment level for teaching, invest in promotion, find partners... The summary report on non-formal training of the Training Department highlighted important results in non-formal training. At the same time, it pointed out some shortcomings such as training targets and enrollment work are increasingly limited, training organization and management still have certain limitations: the implementation of training plans in many units is not reasonable and effective, teaching hours are not guaranteed, the VLVH program only applies positive factors of credits in the teaching process; Tuition collection still faces many difficulties. The report provides specific directions and tasks for the coming time as follows: Regarding enrollment: According to the new regulations in 2010, enrollment will only be conducted in 2 periods per year, which are April and October, and according to the policy of the National University, enrollment in the VLVH training system will decrease in the coming years. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to selection methods such as: partners, training majors, advertising measures and priority should be given to bridging classes. Along with that, promoting short-term training types with certificates inside and outside the school, Faculties/Departments need to develop a number of short-term programs suitable for the training majors of the unit. In addition, this conference also discussed the draft guidelines for organizing non-formal training of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities with specific issues such as: enrollment, training organization, granting of graduation degrees and certificates.
