Key tasks for February 2011

The school-wide briefing session, chaired by the Rector, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh, was held on February 8, 2011.At the meeting, the Rector extended New Year greetings to the various departments within the university, presented an overview of the work carried out in January, and directed the implementation of the key work plan for February 2011. The Rector generally assessed the implementation of the January 2011 work plan as having completed the main tasks as planned. However, some tasks remained unfinished, such as the failure to organize the Non-Formal Training Conference at the University. Regarding the key tasks for February 2011, the Rector paid particular attention to the following: Party work, organization, propaganda, and mass organizations: Strengthening the personnel of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication's Executive Board for the 2011-2016 term; reviewing staffing levels and preparing for the recruitment of new teaching staff; preparing for the establishment of the Faculty of Political Science. Training, student affairs, quality assurance, and inspection: Implementing the teaching plan for the second semester; implementing the plan to organize the first Academic Advisor Professional Competition; Issuing the roadmap for the credit-based training transition for the period 2011-2015 and detailed plans for 2011 and 2012; Organizing the Conference summarizing non-formal training in 2010; preparing the conditions for training in several additional majors/specializations to achieve international standards. Scientific research and international cooperation: Preparing to organize the Conference on Vietnamese History in the Context of Integration and Globalization: Theoretical and Methodological Issues, the Conference on National Master Khuong Viet and Vietnamese Buddhism in the early era of independence, the Conference on the Contribution of Social Sciences and Humanities to Socio-Economic Development; Reviewing student transfers and implementing the first phase of postgraduate admissions in 2011 of Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Implementing the teaching plan for the second semester for international joint training programs. Administrative, management and financial work: Developing and implementing a plan for asset liquidation; Reviewing the financial statements of independent accounting centers within the university; Paying overtime wages for the first semester; Finalizing tuition fee collection for the first semester for all training programs. The Rector noted several tasks that need immediate attention: - The Training Department and the Postgraduate Training Department should plan to develop additional majors/specializations that meet international standards and establish output standards for some majors/specializations; work with relevant units on the establishment of undergraduate majors/specializations. - The Party Committee Office should plan to organize the Party Work Conference. - The Administrative and Management Department should plan to renovate and upgrade the university's electrical network. - Heads of units should ensure the timely assignment of thesis topics to students.
