Focus of work in February 2011

The school-wide meeting chaired by Principal Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh was held on February 8, 2011.At the meeting, the Principal wished the units in the school a Happy New Year, reported an overview of the work implementation in January and directed the implementation of the key work plan for February 2011. The Principal generally assessed the implementation of the work plan in January 2011, completing the main tasks according to plan. However, some tasks were not completed such as: not being able to organize the non-formal training conference at the school. The key tasks in February 2011, the Principal paid special attention to some tasks as follows: Party work, organization, propaganda, and unions: Completing the personnel of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication for the 2011-2016 term; reviewing the staffing, preparing to recruit new teaching staff; preparing to establish the Faculty of Political Science. Training work, student work, quality assessment and inspection: Implementing the teaching plan for semester II; Implementing the plan to organize the first academic advising competition; Issue the roadmap for converting training according to credits for the period 2011 - 2015 and detailed plans for the years 2011 and 2012; Organize the conference to summarize non-formal training in 2010; prepare conditions for training some additional majors/specializations to reach international standards. Scientific research and international cooperation: Prepare to organize the Conference on Vietnamese History in the context of integration and globalization: Theoretical and methodological issues, Conference on National Master Khuong Viet and Vietnamese Buddhism in the early era of independence, Conference on the Contribution of social sciences and humanities to socio-economic development; Consider transfer students and implement the plan for postgraduate admission for the first period of 2011 of VNU; Implement the teaching plan for the second semester for international training joint classes. Administrative, management and financial work: Prepare and implement the plan for liquidation of assets; Check the financial settlement of independent accounting centers of the school; Pay overtime for the first semester; Settlement of first semester tuition fees for all training systems. The principal noted that some tasks that need to be done immediately are: - The Training Department and the Postgraduate Training Department have a plan to build a number of international-level majors/specializations and build output standards for a number of majors/specializations; work with relevant units on having branches/specializations for undergraduate training. - The Party Committee Office has a plan to prepare for the organization of the Party Work Conference. - The Administration - Management Department plans to renovate and upgrade the power grid system throughout the school. - Heads of units pay attention to implementing the schedule of assigning thesis topics to students.
