The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) provides guidance on university admissions for the Work-Study (WSH) program in 2025, specifically:
- Press: target 40
- Archival studies: 40 quotas (training in Lao Cai)
- Psychology: 120 points
I. SUBJECTS AND CONDITIONS FOR APPLICATION:
1. Candidates:- High school graduates from Vietnam or have foreign diplomas recognized as equivalent.
- People with a secondary school diploma in the same field as the applied field and have completed the required amount of high school cultural knowledge as prescribed by law (hereinafter referred to as high school graduates).
- People with a college degree.
2. General admission conditions:- Meet the input threshold as prescribed.
- Have good health to study according to current regulations.
- Have full personal information and application documents as required.
- Submit all valid documents and admission fees in full, in accordance with procedures and on time.
Those who do not meet the above conditions and those who fall into the following categories are not allowed to take the exam:
- Being prosecuted for criminal liability or serving a criminal sentence.
- Military or police personnel on active duty who have not been permitted by their agency's head to attend school.
- Currently under disciplinary action of being banned from taking any exam.
II. METHOD OF ADMISSION:In 2025, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU will enroll students in the form of work-study according to 3 admission methods:
- Method 1 (method code: 100): Admission based on high school graduation exam results in 2025.
- Method 3 (method code 414): Combine high school academic results with interviews for admission
- Method 4 (method code 500): Use another method
(1) Method 100: Admission based on high school graduation exam resultsThe University of Social Sciences and Humanities uses the following admission combinations for specific majors:

Total points achieved= (Subject 1 score + Subject 2 score + Subject 3 score) + incentive points (if any).
The highest total score achieved is 30 points.
Admission score= Total points achieved + priority points (if any)
Bonus points for method 100a) Candidates who win first, second, or third prizes in national and international competitions for excellent students in Mathematics, Literature, History, Geography, English, Chinese, Japanese, or national and international science and technology competitions (with project content, scientific research topics in the field of Social and Behavioral Sciences considered by the Admissions Council) organized and nominated by the Ministry of Education and Training; the time of winning the prize is no more than 3 years up to June 30, 2025 (not using the priority right for direct admission), candidates will be awarded points (on a 30-point scale), specifically:
- First prize in national and international excellent student competitions or national and international science and technology competitions organized and nominated by the Ministry of Education and Training: plus
3.0point;
- Second prize in national and international excellent student competitions or national and international science and technology competitions organized and nominated by the Ministry of Education and Training: will be added
2.5point;
- Third prize in national and international excellent student competitions or national and international science and technology competitions organized and nominated by the Ministry of Education and Training: added
2.0point.
b) Candidates who win prizes in the High School Olympic competition of VNU, the High School Excellent Student Competition, the Provincial/City Excellent Student Competition in the subjects of Mathematics, Literature, History, Geography, English, Chinese, Japanese, candidates will receive extra points (on a 30-point scale), specifically:
- First prize (High school level excellent student of VNU, High school Olympic level of VNU, Excellent student of province/city level under central authority): added together
2.5point;
- Second prize (High school level excellent students of VNU, High school Olympic level of VNU, Excellent students of provinces/central cities): added together
2.0point;
- Third prize (High school level excellent student of VNU, High school Olympic level of VNU, Excellent student of province/city level): added together
1.5point.
The University of Social Sciences and Humanities does not consider adding priority points for excellent student competitions in the Continuing Education system at the provincial/central city level (organized independently from excellent student competitions at the provincial/central city level).
c) Candidates with many achievements and many bonus points will only be counted once with the highest score/achievement.
Regional and subject priority points for method 100Candidates are entitled to regional priority policies according to regulations in the year of high school graduation (or intermediate level) and one year before. (Applicable to candidates graduating in 2024 and 2025).
Priority points for candidates with a total score of 22.5 or higher (when converted to a score on a 30-point scale and the maximum total score of 3 subjects is 30) are determined according to the following formula:
Priority points = [(30 – Total points achieved including incentive points)/7.5] × Priority points for region and subject
Foreign language conversion points:
Candidates registering for admission under method 100 with foreign language certificates (specified in Appendix 01) will be converted into foreign language exam scores in the registered admission combination (if desired). The foreign language score conversion table is in Appendix 02 attached.
The international language certificate to be converted must be valid until the application deadline (valid for 02 years from the exam date). The University of Social Sciences and Humanities does not convert certificates with online exam format.
(2) Method 414:Combine high school academic results with interviews for admission (applicable to candidates who graduated from high school from 2024 or earlier)a) Considering academic results: Assessing candidates' academic performance through the yearly academic results of the subjects in the corresponding admission group. The assessment score is the average score (GPA) of the yearly academic results of grade 12 subjects in the admission group and meeting the assessment criteria (on a 100-point scale) specified below:

Note: The assessment levels for academic performance classification are applied according to Circular 58/2011/TT-BGDDT dated December 12, 2011 and Circular 26/2020/TT-BGDDT dated August 26, 2020 of the Ministry of Education and Training. For the Weak and Poor academic performance categories, they are not eligible for admission.The combinations applying method 414 (registration for combined academic results and interview) are similar to method 100, specifically:
- C00: Literature, History, Geography;
- C03: Mathematics, Literature, History
- C04: Mathematics, Literature, Geography
- D01: Mathematics, Literature, English;
- D14: Literature, English, History;
- D15: Literature, English, Geography;

Note: Candidates only choose 01 combination with the highest result to register for admission.
b) Interview:
- Candidates participate in a direct interview with the Candidate Interview Subcommittee. The interview content focuses on assessing the knowledge, awareness and capacity, motivation to study about the training field of the candidate; assessing the ability to communicate, understand and express problems according to requirements, the candidate's understanding of the training unit; having basic and relatively updated knowledge and understanding of the training field; the need to improve qualifications in the field and apply them in practice, the readiness of the learner to participate in the training process; at the same time, assessing the basic skills of the candidate such as communication, presentation and thinking skills.
(3) Method 500: Use another method (applicable to candidates who already have a university degree)- Consider the application and accumulated academic results of university graduates who wish to apply for university training in the form of VLVH.
- Admission is conducted according to the principle of taking the profile assessment score and academic results from high to low until the expected admission quota is met. In case candidates have the same profile assessment score, the cumulative average score at university level will be considered from high to low until the quota is met.
- Assess the candidate's learning ability through the learning results achieved at the bachelor's level, the total assessment score is 100 points.

III. APPLICATION PROCEDURES:1. Application form (form 1)
2. Certified copy of high school graduation exam results with a copy of temporary high school graduation certificate (for candidates applying for the 100 graduation method in 2025)
3. Certified copy of high school diploma with certified copy of high school transcript (for candidates applying under method 414 graduating from 2024 or earlier).
4. Certified copy of university diploma with certified copy of transcript/university diploma appendix (for candidates applying under method 500)
5. Certified copy of evidence of bonus points or certified copy of priority subjects by region or subject for candidates applying under method 100 and candidates applying under method 414 graduating from high school in 2024 (if any).
6. Certified copies of valid international language certificates to convert foreign language scores (for candidates taking the exam using method 100).
7. Certified copy of Citizen Identification Card.
8. Photo album includes 04 color photos, size 4x6 cm (sample 2).
Note to candidates: must complete all required documents, otherwise will not be eligible for admission.
IV. ENROLLMENT PLAN:
1. Application procedures:Candidates download the application form attached to the Announcement appendix and prepare the application according to the instructions in Section III above. The application must be fully prepared and put into a paper application bag (according to the application form available at bookstores). The outside of the application bag must clearly state the information of the applicant's application for part-time university study.
How to submit application: submit directly or send by post. Note that if sending by post, candidates must send before the application deadline and contact via email:
