Have sufficient academic and professional qualifications and capacity to meet the learning and research requirements of the training program at each level:
For master's degree: Graduated from university (or equivalent or higher) in a suitable field (for research-oriented master's training programs, graduation grade is required to be good or higher or have scientific publications related to the field of study and research) and meet other admission requirements of the training unit for the program applied for;
For doctoral level: Master's degree or regular university degree with Good or higher in a suitable field/major or equivalent level 07 according to the Vietnamese National Qualifications Framework in a number of specific specialized training fields suitable for the doctoral training field/major, meeting the requirements on research experience, scientific publications, research outlines, recommendation letters and other admission requirements of the training unit for the program applied for;
Have sufficient Vietnamese proficiency to meet the study and research requirements of the training program, specifically meeting one of the following requirements:
- Have a Vietnamese language certificate equivalent to Level 4 or higher according to the Vietnamese Language Proficiency Framework for Foreigners issued by institutions authorized by the Ministry of Education and Training (See Appendix 3) and the certificate is valid for 02 years from the date of signing.
- Have a university/master's/doctorate degree in Vietnamese.
- Have a high school/intermediate/college/university/master's/doctoral degree with Vietnamese as the language of study.
In addition, candidates must meet the second foreign language requirements as prescribed by the training program (if any).
Have good health to study and research as confirmed by competent health authorities.
Have sufficient financial capacity to ensure study, research and living in Vietnam during the corresponding study period.
Clear personal history, not serving a criminal sentence, not violating the laws of Vietnam and the host country.
Complete a refresher course before applying (if required).
III. Admission method and time
1. Application submission method and application requirements:
1.1. Method of submitting application:International students submit soft copy of application via email: study@ussh.edu.vn and hard copy of application via address: Training Department - International Training Department, Room 207, Building E, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, 336 Nguyen Trai, Thanh Xuan, Thanh Xuan Trung, Hanoi, Vietnam.
1.2. Document requirements:- Application form
- Notarized copy and English or Vietnamese translation of bachelor's degree and transcript (for master's degree). For degrees issued outside of Vietnam, consular legalization is required.
- Notarized copy and English or Vietnamese translation of master's degree and transcript (for doctoral degree). For degrees issued outside of Vietnam, consular legalization is required.
- Notarized copy of certificate of completion of Supplementary Knowledge course (if candidate must take it)
- For doctoral application: it is necessary to submit a research proposal written in Vietnamese or English, research in the program and at least 01 scientific publication (if subject to the provisions of the current doctoral training regulations of VNU). Scientific publications can be articles in specialized scientific journals or scientific reports published in the proceedings of national or international scientific conferences and seminars with peer review, with an ISBN publication code related to the field or research topic, recognized by the council of professors, associate professors of the industry/interdisciplinary; recommendation letter from at least 01 scientist with the title of professor, associate professor or a doctorate of science, doctorate;
- Notarized copy of Vietnamese language certificate with minimum level 4 according to the Vietnamese Language Proficiency Framework for Foreigners recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam or graduated from university or equivalent level or higher where the training program is taught in Vietnamese. Refer to Appendix 3 - List of Vietnamese language certificate granting institutions recognized for master's and doctoral admissions at VNU.
- Study plan
- Health certificate issued by a competent medical facility of the sending country or a provincial, municipal or central medical facility of Vietnam certifying good health for study, issued no more than 06 months from the date of application submission.
- Copy of financial documents proving financial resources for study, research and living in Vietnam.
- Copy of passport valid for the entire period of study in Vietnam or at least 01 year from the expected date of arrival in Vietnam.
- 4x6 photo
(3 sets of documents are required for master's degree and 5 sets of documents are required for doctoral degree)

1. Admission time:Expected phase 1 on June 30, 2025 and phase 2 on November 30, 2025.
2. Training time:- Standard training time for master's degree: 02 years
- Standard training time for doctoral degree: 03 years
Successful candidates will be officially recognized as graduate students and doctoral students after completing admission and tuition procedures.
V. TUITION INFORMATION(Pursuant to Decision No. 2440/QD-XHNV dated July 7, 2023 on regulating tuition fees for training systems and levels for foreigners)
1.1 Master's degree tuition: 67,500,000 VND/year/student
1.2. Doctoral degree tuition fee: 90,000,000 VND/year/PhD student
Annually, the training budget may be adjusted according to regulations.
