Information on regular university admissions in 2021

In 2021, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi (school code: QHX) admitted 1,650 students across 31 majors/training programs, including 27 standard training programs and 4 high-quality training programs.
I. ADMISSION METHODS
- General requirements:Candidates must have graduated from high school or equivalent, and be in good health to study according to current regulations.
1. Admission Method 1: Direct admission and priority admission (see detailed announcement and registration instructions)HERE)
1.1. Group 1: Direct admission according to the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
a)Labor Hero, Hero of the People's Armed Forces, National Emulation Fighter.
b)Candidates must be official members of the national team participating in the International Olympiad or the International Science and Engineering Fair.
c)Candidates who won first, second, and third prizes in the national excellent student selection exam; and the national science and technology competition.
d)Candidates with severe disabilities must have a disability certificate issued by a competent authority in accordance with regulations.
e)Candidates who have had permanent residence for 3 years or more, studied for 3 years and graduated from high school in poor districts (must complete a 1-year preparatory course before officially starting their studies).
g)Foreign candidates wishing to apply for university admission at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
1.2. Group 2: Direct admission according to the specific regulations of Hanoi National University.
1.2.1Students in specialized programs at specialized high schools nationwide who have achieved a "Good" conduct rating for all three years of high school and meet the requirements.onebased on the following criteria:
a)Being an official member of the team participating in the Olympic Games or the International Science and Engineering Fair;
b)Awarded an official prize in the high school student excellence competition at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
c)Winning an official prize in the annual High School Natural Science Olympiad;
d)Being an official member of the team participating in the national excellent student selection exam or the national science and technology competition;
e)Applicants must have an average academic score of 8.0 or higher in each of the 5 semesters (grades 10, 11, and the first semester of grade 12), and an average academic score of 8.0 or higher in the 3 subjects of the admission combination over the 5 semesters (grades 10, 11, and the first semester of grade 12), and have achieved a score of 8.0 or higher in the 2021 high school graduation exam that meets the minimum quality assurance threshold for the registered major.
1.2.2Non-specialized students from high schools affiliated with Vietnam National University, Hanoi, who have achieved a "Good" conduct rating for all three years of high school and meet the requirements.onebased on the following criteria:
a)Awarded an official prize in the high school student excellence competition at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
b)Winning an official prize in the annual High School Natural Science Olympiad;
c)Applicants must have an average GPA of 8.0 or higher in each of the five semesters (grades 10, 11, and the first semester of grade 12), and an average GPA of 8.5 or higher in the three subjects of the admission test combination in each of the five semesters (grades 10, 11, and the first semester of grade 12), and have achieved a score in the 2021 high school graduation exam that meets the minimum quality assurance threshold for the registered major.
1.2.3High school students nationwide who have achieved a "Good" conduct rating for all three years of high school and meet one of the following criteria are eligible:
a)Being a participant in the monthly competition of the "Road to Olympia" program organized annually by Vietnam Television, having an average academic score of 8.0 or higher over 5 semesters (grades 10, 11, and the first semester of grade 12), and achieving a score in the 2021 high school graduation exam that meets the minimum quality assurance threshold for the registered major.
b)Students must have won first, second, or third prize in the provincial/city-level excellent student competition, have an average academic score of 8.0 or higher in each of the five semesters (grades 10, 11, and the first semester of grade 12), and have achieved a score in the 2021 high school graduation exam that meets the minimum quality assurance threshold for the registered major.
1.3. Group 3: Priority admission according to the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training:Candidates who win a consolation prize in the national excellent student competition or a fourth prize in the national science and technology competition, whose exam subject or topic is relevant to the subjects in the admission combinations of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and who meet the minimum quality assurance threshold for the admission program in that year.

2. Admission Method 2: Admission based on the results of the 2021 High School Graduation Examination
- Admission will be based on the results of the 2021 high school graduation exam that meet the minimum quality assurance threshold for admission to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
- Candidates can register for an unlimited number of preferences, schools/majors, and must arrange their preferences in order of priority from highest to lowest (preference 1 being the highest priority).
- Candidates are considered equally based on their exam results, regardless of the priority order of their registered preferences, but each candidate will only be admitted to the highest priority preference in their list of registered preferences.
- The admission score is determined according to each combination of exam subjects/tests. The admission score for each combination is the sum of the scores of the exam subjects/tests on a 10-point scale plus priority points for eligible candidates and regions (if any).
- Candidates applying based on the 2021 high school graduation exam results must register their application preferences along with their high school graduation exam registration, in accordance with the regulations and guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Note: For admission based on high school graduation exam results, for admission combinations including a foreign language, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities only uses the exam scores from the 2021 high school graduation exam, and does not use the results of exemptions from the foreign language exam as stipulated in the Regulations on Recognition of High School Graduation of the Ministry of Education and Training.

3. Admission Method 3: Admission of candidates with results from aptitude tests, international certificates such as A-level, SAT, ACT, and international foreign language certificates.See the detailed announcement and registration instructions. HERE)
3.1.Subject 1:Candidates whose results in the 2021 high school student aptitude test organized by Hanoi National University meet the minimum quality assurance threshold for admission set by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities are eligible to apply.
3.2.Target 2:Candidates with an A-Level international certificate, whose results in the three-subject exam combination include at least one of the two subjects, Mathematics or Literature, and whose score in each subject is 60/100 or higher (equivalent to a C grade, PUM range ≥ 60).
3.3. Subject 3:Candidates who achieve a score of 1100/1600 or higher on the standardized SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) are eligible.
3.4. Subject 4:Candidates who achieve a score of 22/36 or higher on the ACT (American College Testing) standardized test are eligible.
3.5. Object 5:Candidates with an IELTS certificate of 5.5 or higher, or a TOEFL iBT certificate of 65 or higher, or other equivalent international language certificates, and a total score of at least 12 points in the remaining two subjects of the admission combination in the 2021 high school graduation exam are eligible.

- (*) High-quality training programs (Journalism - QHX40, Management Science - QHX41, Information Management - QHX42, International Studies - QHX43):Candidates must ensure that their Foreign Language (English) score in the 2021 high school graduation exam is at least 4.0 (on a 10-point scale) or that they possess equivalent international foreign language certificates as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training and Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

III. OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1. Regarding Oriental Studies:The Oriental Studies program comprises three specializations: Indian Studies, Thai Studies, and Chinese Studies. After the first semester, the Department of Oriental Studies will assign first-year Oriental Studies students to their specialization based on their preferences and academic performance in the first semester.
2. Simultaneously pursuing two training programs (double degree):
After completing their first year, full-time students at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have the opportunity to pursue a second major in one of the following fields:
- The Journalism, Management Science, Tourism and Travel Service Management, Office Management, International Studies, and Psychology departments of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
- English Language, Korean Language, Japanese Language, and Chinese Language majors at the University of Foreign Languages.
- Law Department of the Faculty of Law – Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Students who complete the training program in both majors will receive two official bachelor's degrees.
3. Information on tuition fees for the 2021-2022 academic year(See detailsHERE):
- Standard training programs (except for Tourism and Travel Service Management and Hotel Management):980,000 VND/month (9,800,000 VND/year), equivalent to 260,000 VND/credit.
- Tourism and Travel Service Management, Hotel Management: 1,170,000 VND/month (11,700,000 VND/year), equivalent to 260,000 VND/credit.
- High-quality training programs (tuition fees commensurate with the quality of training):3,500,000 VND/month (35,000,000 VND/year).
