(Urgent Announcement No. 16) Vietnam National University, Hanoi continues to implement online teaching and learning methods.

On the afternoon of May 7, 2021, the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) issued an urgent notice regarding the intensified implementation of measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 epidemic. This included a directive for undergraduate and postgraduate training units to continue implementing online teaching and learning methods until further notice.

In accordance with Prime Minister's Directive No. 570/CĐ-TTg dated May 2, 2021, and Hanoi People's Committee's Directive No. 11/CT-UBND dated May 5, 2021, on strengthening the implementation of decisive measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic in the new situation; given the rapid, complex, and unpredictable developments of the epidemic, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) requests the VNU Office, the Trade Union, the Youth Union, the VNU Student Association, and its member and affiliated units to continue implementing VNU's Official Letter No. 1179/ĐHQGHN-CT&CTHSSV dated April 27, 2021, and the VNU Urgent Notice dated May 3, 2021, paying particular attention to the following contents:

1. Continue implementing online teaching and learning methods for undergraduate and postgraduate students until further notice from VNU; secondary and high school students under the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will follow the announcements.

2. Heads of units shall, based on the practical conditions of their units, allow, encourage, and arrange for administrative, research, and support staff to hold meetings and perform tasks online at the office or at home as appropriate, but must ensure the progress, quality, and efficiency of work and guarantee safety conditions in epidemic prevention and control.

3. Temporarily suspend conferences, seminars, forums, and other activities involving large gatherings until a more appropriate time. Unit leaders should strengthen their guidance on the implementation of political and ideological education, ethics, and lifestyle education for staff, lecturers, students, and postgraduate trainees in the context of epidemic prevention and control and compliance with the law in general; and regularly inspect, supervise, and evaluate this work within their units.

4. The Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control of each unit is responsible for updating daily (before 4:30 PM) the implementation situation at the unit, the number of individuals in the unit belonging to the relevant groups (if any), and promptly reporting to the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control of VNU (via the Standing Committee at phone number 098 9381332 of the Deputy Head of the Political and Student Affairs Department Nguyen Minh Truong, Email:nmtruong@vnu.edu.vn.
