Given the continuing complex developments of the Covid-19 pandemic worldwide, especially in some neighboring countries sharing a border with Vietnam, where the disease is spreading rapidly and widely; and although the situation is well controlled domestically, the risk of a resurgence remains ever-present, the Prime Minister issued urgent dispatch No. 541/CĐ-TTg on April 23, 2021, directing the strengthening of Covid-19 prevention and control measures. Based on the content of the Prime Minister's dispatch and implementing the letter No. 1179/ĐHQGHN-CT&CTHSSV dated April 27, 2021, from the Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, in order to contribute to maintaining the achievements in disease prevention and control, successfully achieving the dual goals, and best protecting the health of staff and students, especially during the upcoming April 30th and May 1st holidays, the University requests the following units:
  1. Continue to strictly implement measures to ensure COVID-19 prevention and control in the new circumstances as per Official Letter No. 500/XHNV dated March 8, 2021, from the Principal of the School; absolutely no complacency or negligence is allowed.
  2. Strengthen information dissemination and public awareness campaigns to ensure all individuals fully comply with the Ministry of Health's 5K requirements, especially mandatory mask-wearing in public places, classrooms, lecture halls, events, tourist areas, entertainment venues…where large crowds gather, and on public transportation; and complete health declarations as required by the Hanoi People's Committee after returning to Hanoi from other localities after the holiday.
  3. Unit leaders must regularly inspect and supervise the implementation of epidemic prevention and control measures within their units, imposing strict penalties on groups and individuals who violate the regulations; and proactively update and prepare contingency plans to respond to all epidemic situations.
  4. Continue to restrict the organization of events and activities involving large gatherings, sightseeing, and excursions unless absolutely necessary; if such events are organized, strict measures to ensure safety and prevent the spread of Covid-19 must be implemented as prescribed: temperature checks, mask wearing, social distancing, and the availability of hand sanitizer.
The school will closely monitor the developments of the epidemic situation and the directives from higher authorities to provide timely and appropriate guidance.
