This morning, June 25, 2010, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the first Master's Degree Award Ceremony of 2010.
This morning, June 25, 2010, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the first Master's Degree Award Ceremony of 2010.In this solemn ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh (Principal) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Vice-Principal) awarded master's degrees to 352 graduate students, in 24 majors. In addition, the School also awarded 07 students who had excellently completed their courses. Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim emphasized: With its position as a prestigious and largest training center for social sciences and humanities in the country, the School is currently the leading institution in terms of scale, quality and number of postgraduate students in social sciences and humanities. As a basic science school, always attaching importance to research and always linking training with research, it can be said that the tradition and thinking of education and training is an extremely meaningful factor in affirming the quality and position of the School in the Vietnamese education system. Many master's theses completed in the past time have been associated with research topics, projects as well as long-term research orientations of the units. Many theses are not only serious in form but also new in orientation, research methods and clearly demonstrate exploration and creative thinking capacity. Among the 352 students receiving degrees, there are 242 students from the 2006-2009 course. The remaining previous courses include 96 people. There are 10 students defending their degrees ahead of schedule (QH-2007-X course). There are 04 students who meet the criteria for transferring to doctoral studies. The faculty with the most graduates is the Faculty of Literature (62 students). Among the students awarded degrees this time, there are 23 cases from units that cooperate in training with the University, namely the Institute of Science and Technology Policy, the Institute of Philosophy and the Institute of Sociology. Regarding learning outcomes, 208 students achieved excellent grades (59.1%), 138 students achieved good grades (39.2%), 06 students achieved fair grades (1.7%) and no students achieved average grades. In addition to the achievements, this is also an opportunity for the School and its training facilities to reflect on the work done in the past and draw lessons and limitations from postgraduate training so that future training courses will become more professional, effective and of higher quality.
