This morning, June 25, 2010, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the first Master's degree awarding ceremony of 2010.
This morning, June 25, 2010, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the first Master's degree awarding ceremony of 2010.During this solemn ceremony, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh (Rector) and Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Vice Rector) awarded master's degrees to 352 postgraduate students in 24 disciplines. In addition, the university also presented awards to 7 students who had successfully completed their courses. Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim emphasized: As the most prestigious and largest center for training in social sciences and humanities in the country, the university is currently leading in terms of scale, quality, and number of postgraduate students in social sciences and humanities. As a university of basic sciences, always valuing research and linking training with research, this tradition and educational philosophy is a crucial factor in affirming the quality and position of the university within the Vietnamese education system. Many master's theses completed recently have been linked to research topics, projects, and long-term research directions of various units. Many theses are not only rigorous in form but also innovative in research direction and methodology, clearly demonstrating exploration and creative thinking abilities. Of the 352 graduates, 242 are from the 2006-2009 cohort. The remaining 96 are from previous cohorts. Ten students defended their theses ahead of schedule (from the QH-2007-X cohort). Four students met the criteria for doctoral studies. The Faculty with the most graduates is the Faculty of Literature (62 students). Among the graduates this time, 23 are from units that collaborate with the University in training, namely the Institute of Science and Technology Policy, the Institute of Philosophy, and the Institute of Sociology. Regarding academic results, 208 students defended their theses with excellent grades (59.1%), 138 students achieved good grades (39.2%), 6 students achieved fair grades (1.7%), and no students received average grades. Besides these achievements, this was also an opportunity for the University and its training facilities to reflect on the work done in the past and learn from the shortcomings of postgraduate training, so that future training courses will be more professional, effective, and of higher quality.
