Regulations on part-time staff issued under Decision No. 707/QD-XHNV-TC dated June 3, 2008 of the President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Article 1: General provisions:
- Concurrent staff of units under the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi are people who are not on the permanent payroll of the University, meeting the standards of the position invited to hold concurrently according to the specific requirements of the unit and regulations of the University.
- Concurrently-employed staff can be invited to be the head or deputy head of a department (in case they are still of management age); Head or Deputy Head of a Department; Director or Deputy Director of a Center; or teaching staff.
- Based on the proposal of the Heads of the units under the School, the consent of the invited staff and the agency where the staff works, the Principal issues a decision to appoint the staff on a part-time basis; the period of concurrent appointment is clearly stated in the Decision on concurrent appointment.
Article 2: Specific provisions:2.1. Age: - The maximum age for invitation to hold a concurrent position is not more than 70 years old. - In case of retired cadres, in addition to the unit's professional proposal, there must be a voluntary application to participate in teaching concurrently. 2.2. Academic titles and degrees: - Incumbent cadres must have a Master's degree or higher - Retired cadres must have the title of Professor or Associate Professor. - Special cases are decided by the Principal. 2.3. Concurrent cadres must directly participate in teaching and guiding students in scientific research.
Article 3: Forms of concurrent positions:3.1. Concurrent positions are entitled to monthly remuneration for those who meet the following criteria: - Have a PhD degree or the title of Professor or Associate Professor. - Participate in teaching 2 subjects or 4 credits (equivalent to 60 academic hours) or more in 01 academic year or teach at least 01 subject and have concurrently held a faculty or department management position. 3.2. Concurrent positions are not entitled to monthly remuneration for the remaining subjects and staff of Hanoi National University.
Article 4: Obligations and rights of part-time staff
- Concurrently-held officers are responsible for performing specific tasks as agreed with the unit. When there is a change in an individual's work that affects the concurrently-held task, the Head of the unit where the concurrently-held task is performed must be promptly notified.
- Participate in teaching, scientific research and professional activities of the department, faculty, center, school; develop and compile textbooks and lectures; perform other training tasks according to the unit's plan
- Participate in student management in class, guide undergraduate and postgraduate students in scientific research, write theses and dissertations according to the plan of the department, faculty and school.
- Based on academic title, degree and nature of concurrent work, subjects subject to regulation 3.1 will receive monthly concurrent salary from the School.
Article 5: Implementation:
- Every July, units review the team of part-time staff according to the conditions and standards specified above, based on the workload and operational plan of the unit in the new school year to request the School to sign a decision to invite part-time staff according to the forms specified in Article 3.
- Officials invited to hold a concurrent position for the first time must have a scientific resume and the consent of the agency where the official works.
- This document takes effect from the 2008-2009 school year.
During the implementation process, if there is any inappropriate point, the units shall report in writing to the Principal for consideration and adjustment.
