According to the Principal's conclusions at the school-wide briefing session on May 4, 2010, all units within the school will continue to implement the tasks of the 2009-2010 school year in a coordinated manner, completing the following key tasks on schedule in May 2010.
1. Party work, organization, propaganda, and mass organizations.
- Party Committee meeting; continued organizing branch party congresses; preparation for the 26th Party Congress of the University (June 16-17, 2010); - Organizing the 5th Congress of the University Student Union (May 14-15, 2010); - Consolidating the Deans' Boards of the Faculties of Tourism Studies, Literature, and Management Science for the 2010-2015 term; - Organizing a conference of key officials to implement the action program for the reform of higher education management in the 2010-2012 period and determining the strategic plan for building the university until 2020, with a vision to 2030 (May 8, 2010); - Implementing the review of Professor and Associate Professor titles in 2010; - Implementing the 2010 summer volunteer plan.
2. Training, student affairs, quality assurance and inspection.
- Organizing course registration for the first semester of the 2010-2011 academic year and issuing exam schedules for the second semester of the 2009-2010 academic year to students; - Implementing the evaluation of three years of credit-based university training and setting goals, tasks, and solutions for the 2010-2012 period; - Establishing alumni liaison committees for the K51 cohort; - Reviewing the results of the first postgraduate entrance examination in 2010; - Announcing and preparing the plan for the second postgraduate entrance examination in 2010.
3. Scientific research and international cooperation
- Organizing the university-level student scientific conference; - Signing research contracts for 2010; - Developing and implementing the plan and tasks for scientific research activities in 2011.
4. Administrative, managerial, and financial work
- Organized the 2010 Conference of Key School Officials (May 27-30, 2010), including the following contents:
- Summary of the 2009-2010 school year and determination of the plan for the 2010-2011 school year.
- Finalize the strategic plan report for school development up to 2020, with a vision to 2030;
- Continue to deepen the organization and management of credit-based training to improve the quality of training;
- Expand non-formal training methods.
- Upgrading and repairing school facilities in preparation for the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi and the 65th anniversary of the school's founding; - Reviewing the 2009 financial statements; - Continuing to collect tuition fees for the second semester of the 2009-2010 school year; - Reporting on the 2009 personal income tax settlement.
5. Some tasks need to be done immediately.
- Heads of units should inform eligible staff to prepare their applications and register for the 2010 Professor and Associate Professor titles. - Units should submit reports on the implementation of the action program for the reform of higher education management in the 2010-2012 period to the university (via the Training Department). - Units are responsible for organizing final exams for specialized subjects within their units. The Training Department is responsible for organizing final exams for general subjects. - Units should pay attention to reallocating time allocation in subjects, especially practical subjects. - Centers must report financial and accounting information according to the prescribed forms and templates of the competent authorities. The Planning and Library Department is responsible for guiding implementation. - The Personnel Department should propose a plan to merge the two positions of Training Assistant and Postgraduate Training Assistant into a single Training Assistant. - The International Cooperation and International Relations Department should revise the photos in the English version of the university's introduction. - The Administrative and Management Department will coordinate with other units within the university to prepare a plan for repairing and equipping facilities during the summer. - The Center for Journalism and Communication is responsible for regularly updating the university's website in Vietnamese and coordinating with the Department of International Cooperation to update the English version; heads of units are responsible for providing information on their unit's activities. - Vice Rector – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Kim Son will direct the work with Vietnam National University, Hanoi regarding the opening of a Tourism Studies major; and will direct the Faculty of History and the Department of Anthropology to complete the handover process as soon as possible. - Vice Rector – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu will direct the development of projects to enhance training and scientific research capacity; a project to build a Psychology Practice Room; and a project on training quality accreditation.
