I would like to ask if the entrance exam for the French-language program in the Psychology department is conducted in English?- Hello. Students who studied English as a foreign language in high school will take an English proficiency test as scheduled. If studying Russian, French, or Chinese, their academic results from the three years of high school, as recorded in their transcript, will be considered. After admission, the foreign language for the French-language Clinical Psychology program will be French.

Dear teachers, if I don't get accepted into the high-quality classes at the school this year, can I retake the entrance exam next year? I would appreciate it if you could guide me on the opportunities to study in the high-quality classes. Thank you very much.- If you haven't been admitted this year, you still have one more chance to study in the high-quality training program if you are a student enrolled in the standard program of one of the following majors: Management Science, History, Literature, or Philosophy. That opportunity arises at the beginning of your second year. Based on your first-year academic results, if you achieve a semester GPA of excellent or higher (greater than or equal to 3.20) or 3.00 or higher but have already met the B2 English proficiency standard, you will be considered for transfer to the high-quality training program. Good luck! If not this year, then next year!
Thanh Ha@ 14:53, 19/08/2012
I have a question. Why doesn't the Social Work major have a high-quality program?- That's because the school hasn't yet developed a high-quality training program for this major.

Dear teachers, I'd like to ask if the National University has an international training program in Linguistics. If I am accepted into the National University through my second-choice application, will I be eligible to participate in this program? (I took the C-block exam and scored 18 points).Currently, the admissions schedule for the internationally accredited Linguistics program is from September 12th to 14th, 2012. However, once the supplementary admissions (from September 12th to 24th, 2012) and the entrance exam has taken place, the Admissions Council may consider supplementary admissions if deemed necessary.
Le Thi Hoa Phuong@ 13:33, 20/08/2012 Dear teachers, I noticed that the National University has an international training program for Linguistics. I would like to ask if, after being accepted into the National University through my second-choice application, I am eligible to participate in this program? (I took the C-block exam and scored 20 points)- According to the regulations on the development of internationally-standardized majors and specializations at Hanoi National University, all candidates admitted to Hanoi National University (regardless of which school or major) who wish to and meet the registration requirements are eligible to apply for the internationally-standardized Linguistics major. Since you are eligible for supplementary admission, please refer to Thao Trang's answer above to see if you have enough time to register.
Nguyen Kim Anh@ 21:51, 20/08/2012 I'm studying French and want to register for the high-quality class, so I'd like to know the method or process for evaluating my foreign language transcript.- Hello. First of all, I'd like to point out that because very few students are admitted to the high-quality French, Russian, and Chinese language programs, the foreign language for these programs is English. However, if you have good experience learning French, then English shouldn't be too difficult, right? You DO NOT have to take a French test, BUT you MUST write an essay. Regarding the French transcript review, it will be based on your average French grade over the three years of high school, and priority will be given to candidates who participated in provincial or national competitions or have other French language certificates.
Thu Ha@ 18:03, 21/08/2012 Dear teachers, I would like to ask if, since I did not register for the Linguistics major as my second choice, if I am accepted into the university, will I be able to transfer to this major in the high-quality program? Thank you.- Please read the answers above to find your own answer.
Van Anh@ 20:05, 21/08/2012 I'm a student in the high-quality literature program. I find the high-quality program at the university very good and effective. Although there's an English entrance exam (a disadvantage for students in the humanities/social sciences), studying in the high-quality program offers many advantages such as scholarships, English language support, small class sizes, and experienced faculty from the department… but it also allows you to study in an environment that demands more effort (the class is full of talented students), otherwise you'll be transferred to another class easily. Good luck to you all.- Thank you, Van Anh, for sharing here. Wishing you many new successes in the new academic year!
Nguyen Duc Anh@ 23:25, August 21, 2012 Dear teachers, I recently took the entrance exam for the Journalism and Communication program and was accepted, but I would like to try applying to the high-quality program. I saw on the university website that I have to take an English exam and write an essay. I have a question regarding the English exam: Will the university test be a combination of multiple-choice and essay questions, or entirely multiple-choice like the university/college entrance exam? Also, if I don't meet the admission requirements for the high-quality program this year, will I have another chance to take the exam next year? Thank you, teachers.- Firstly, I advise you to be decisive rather than just testing your limits. Trying depends on the situation. If you enroll in Journalism and apply for the high-quality program this September, you'll have the opportunity to study in that program. If you don't apply for the high-quality program and instead study Journalism, you won't have the chance to study in the high-quality program in subsequent years. Regarding the English exam structure, please see the following answer.
Ngoc Chinh@ 22:43, 21/08/2012 Dear teachers, I would like to ask about the English exam, specifically the reading and writing skills test. I'm asking about the exam format.Tran Hoang Huong Ly@ 00:18, August 21, 2012 Dear teachers, I would like to ask about the structure of the English exam for the high-quality program. I read in the admissions section that there is a reading and writing section. Is the reading section similar to the university entrance exam, or is it a different method? And for the writing section, do candidates write their own answers instead of circling multiple-choice answers, or do they write a paragraph? I also have another question: if I pass the entrance exam for the high-quality program, what foreign language will I study? (I will be applying to the Management Science high-quality program). Thank you.- The English test will be 60 minutes long (the initial announcement was 90 minutes, which has been revised). - The test consists of 3 parts: Grammar and Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, and Writing. + Part I (Grammar and Vocabulary) has 10 multiple-choice questions with an incomplete sentence and suggested answers A, B, C, D. + Part II (Reading Comprehension) has 2 passages: a) The given text is a passage of approximately 120 to 150 words, with 5 questions or 5 incomplete sentences with 4 multiple-choice answers A, B, C, D based on the content of the reading. There are 5 questions, and students must answer in a multiple-choice format. b) The given text is a passage of approximately 100 words with 10 blanks. There are 10 questions, and students must answer in a fill-in-the-blank format. Part III (Writing) has two requirements: a) With given text consisting of suggested words, there are five questions, and students must write five complete sentences. b) With given text consisting of a topic and some suggestions, students must write a paragraph of approximately 80-100 words.
My Linh@ 08:26, August 25, 2012 Dear teachers, I have been accepted into the Management Science program and wish to enroll in the high-quality program. I see that the exam includes an English test (reading and writing) and an essay. Could you please clarify: will the essay be written in English or Vietnamese? Will the essay topic be about my field of study or a social issue? Thank you. I hope you can answer these questions soon so I can prepare well for the upcoming exam.- Students should write their essays in Vietnamese. The topic should be related to the high-quality or internationally recognized program they are applying for (not the program they initially applied for in university entrance exams), so students should think broadly about their future careers as well. Compared to the initial announcement, the essay limit of 1500 words will be removed, and students will only have 60 minutes to write. The length of the essay is entirely up to the student. Good luck!
fierce@ 09:40, August 28, 2012 Sir, what is the tuition fee for the high-quality training program? Does it exceed 30 million VND per year?- In the 2012-2013 academic year, the tuition fee for the high-quality program, if calculated monthly, was 480,000 VND/month. However, the school uses a credit-based system, so students pay tuition fees corresponding to the number of credits they take, but the total tuition fee for the entire course cannot exceed the stated monthly amount. Normally, high-quality program students take about 20 credits per semester and study for 8 semesters. The tuition fee per credit for the 2012-2013 academic year was 114,000 VND/credit.
Thu Thuy@ 15:57, August 28, 2012 Dear Professors and Lecturers! I happened to learn that the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities is recruiting for a high-quality program in History for the 2012 academic year – a subject my child is very passionate about – and he/she is very eager to participate. He/she won third prize in the 2012 National High School History Competition and has already been admitted to the Journalism Faculty of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities (with a score of 22 points in Block C, not including bonus points). I would like to ask if my child can apply for direct admission to the high-quality History program? I hope you can answer soon so that my child doesn't miss out on his/her studies. Thank you very much.- Unfortunately, the school couldn't enroll your child in the high-quality training program.
sacred@ 18:31, August 28, 2012 Dear Ms., I would like to ask about registering for the Linguistics program at your university, which has achieved international standards. I was not admitted to my first choice, Hanoi University of Foreign Languages, because I was 0.5 points short, and was transferred to the French Language Department of Hanoi University of Foreign Languages according to the university's announcement. So, if I want to register for the Linguistics program at your university, do I have to enroll at Hanoi University of Foreign Languages, since enrollment would cost about 1.5 million VND? And if I want to register for the Linguistics program at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, do I have to register and pay the fee at room 604, building E, University of Social Sciences and Humanities?- First, you must enroll at the University of Foreign Languages and then register for the Linguistics major. Regarding the money you mentioned, since I'm not sure what it's for (although I suspect it's more than half of it tuition fees for the first semester), even though you paid it at the University of Foreign Languages, when you become a student in the Linguistics major at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, that tuition fee will still be transferred to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Some candidates have asked questions that are repetitive and have already been answered, so the advisory board invites you to reread the full answers to get accurate information.
