Selecting students to participate in the "Young Vietnamese Parliament" Project

To enhance students' understanding of the National Assembly and raise awareness among young people about participating in political activities, the National Assembly Office, in collaboration with the British Embassy and the British Council Vietnam, is implementing the Project."Vietnam's Youth Parliament"Selected students participating in the Project will receive training and knowledge about the organization and operation of Parliament, practical skills in parliamentary procedures, and participation in the Plenary Session of the Young Parliamentarians. Through this training process, one outstanding student will be selected to join a delegation to visit and learn from the experiences of the British Parliament.

The Student Union Executive Committee will select 10 students to participate in the project based on the following criteria:

1. Student selection criteria:

- Possess good moral character and above-average academic performance.

- Actively participate in group activities; possess the ability to organize collective activities.

- Possesses the ability to search for, select, and synthesize information, as well as the ability to present and debate in front of an audience.

- Possesses a certain level of interest and understanding regarding the organization and operation of the National Assembly.

- Possesses a good level of English (ability to communicate confidently, proficiency in political matters).

- Eligible to participate in activities of the "Young Vietnamese Parliament" ProjectSummary information attached)

2. Selection process and timeline:

- From September 9th to 16th, 2015: Accepting registration applications

- From September 17-18, 2015: Reviewing applications and selecting qualified students.

- September 21, 2015: Results announced

3. Registration form(No more than 800 words) including the following key information:

- Introduce yourself (information about your full name, date of birth, class, department, foreign language proficiency, strengths and other special abilities, etc.)

- Your plans and intentions when participating in the "Vietnam Youth Parliament" and your commitment to participating in communication programs to spread awareness to other students if selected.

- Photocopies of awards, language certificates, certificates of participation in activities, and illustrative photos (if any).

This is a meaningful activity, showcasing the image and voice of students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities on the country's political issues. The Standing Committee of the University's Youth Union announces to all students who wish and are able to participate in the Project to submit their application to the Youth Union Office.Before 10:00 AM on September 16, 2015 (Wednesday).
