Happy Vietnamese Teachers' Day!

As usual, November each year holds a day of special significance for those in the teaching profession. It's a day to honor the noble mission and role of teachers in spreading knowledge and positive life values ​​to generations of students. At the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, November 20th is always a celebration for teachers, a time to honor exemplary educators; an opportunity to share memories and profound reflections on teaching and research; and the most beautiful time for generations of students to express their love, respect, and gratitude to their esteemed teachers.

Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University) congratulated the teachers and shared profound thoughts on the role of teachers in the new context: A good teacher is like a candle, burning itself to light the way for others. A good teacher is one who knows how to explain. An excellent teacher is one who knows how to guide students. A great teacher is one who knows how to inspire. The Rector wished the teachers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to always be great teachers, inspiring the younger generation to live, learn, and contribute.

The leaders of the Faculty of Management Science and the Faculty of Philosophy received the emulation flag from the Ministry of Education and Training for their outstanding achievements in the 2015-2016 academic year..

The following lecturers received the title of Emulation Fighter at the Ministry level: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong (Faculty of Management Science), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha (Faculty of Sociology), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Hoa (Faculty of Sociology), Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh (Institute of Policy and Management), Dr. Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh (Personnel Organization Department), Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu (Student Affairs and Services Department).

Certificates of merit from the Minister of Education and Training were awarded to six collectives for their outstanding achievements: the Faculty of Information and Library Science, the Faculty of Management Science, the Faculty of Sociology, the Faculty of Linguistics, the Faculty of Philosophy, and the Faculty of Psychology.

The Head of the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language receives the certificate of accreditation for the quality of education at the university level in the field of Vietnamese Studies.

The Head of the Psychology Department receives the certificate of accreditation for the quality of education at the university level in the field of Psychology.

Dr. Lam Minh Chau (Deputy Head of the Anthropology Department), on behalf of generations of teachers, shared her thoughts: The University of Social Sciences and Humanities has something that has become a brand and a source of pride for many generations: its team of teachers – individuals with character, knowledge, intelligence, and deep affection for their students. The Faculty of Humanities is a place where teachers can hold their heads high, are respected, and are treated with rare compassion and humanity. To be a student of these teachers and later to follow in their footsteps to become a teacher at this university is the greatest honor and good fortune of my life.

This year's Vietnamese Teachers' Day felt fresher and more youthful than usual thanks to a series of sports activities organized before and during the main event, including football, table tennis, badminton, and tug-of-war. The sports festival was organized by the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Dr. Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh (Chairperson of the University's Trade Union) and Mr. Nguyen Van Thuy (Vice Chairperson of the University's Trade Union) presented commemorative flags to the teams.

The badminton tournament attracted a large number of athletes, mostly teachers, who participated in the competition.
