Wednesday - November 22, 2017 10:08 AM
On November 20, 2017, Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) and representatives from the Cooperation and Development Office met and worked with a delegation from the Province of Ontario, Canada, led by Ms. Chelsea Peet (Director of the International Cooperation Division, Department of Intergovernmental Affairs, Cabinet Office of Canada).

The meeting aimed to discuss organizing a talk and exchange between Ms. Kathleen Wynne, Premier of Ontario, Canada, and students, staff, and faculty of the university. The event will take place at a suitable time during Ms. Wynne's visit to Vietnam from December 3-6. The planned topic for the talk is women and their participation in society.

Professor Pham Quang Minh has reached a preliminary agreement with the Ontario Provincial delegation on issues such as the auditorium, participants, reception procedures, interpretation, and equipment.

On behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Professor Pham Quang Minh pledged that the University would create favorable conditions to ensure the success of the exchange. This activity will help students, lecturers, and staff of the University gain a deeper understanding and contribute to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. This is even more significant as the two countries are about to celebrate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations next year (August 1973 - August 2018).

Over the past years, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has welcomed many prominent politicians, high-ranking officials, and scholars such as Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Governor General of Canada David Johnston, and former US Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken. These events were successful and left a deep impression on the partners as well as the faculty, staff, and students of the University.
