This year's tournament features four teams from: the Regional Political Academy 1, the Nhan Chinh Ward Youth Union, the Thanh Xuan District Youth Union, and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi). In addition to Vietnamese athletes (members of the Youth Union and young people living and studying in Thanh Xuan District), there are also students and international students from the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
The Badminton Club of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities participated in this year's tournament with a very strong team, consisting of 10 students, including 2 Laotian students and 8 Vietnamese students from the International Studies, Journalism and Communication, Tourism Studies, History, Sociology, Vietnamese Studies, and Vietnamese Language departments. The club participated in all three categories: men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles.
After a morning of competition in the spirit of sportsmanship: "honesty, confidence, nobility, camaraderie, and learning," the badminton team of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities excellently won the following prizes:
First prize in men's doubles: Bui Van Son - Nguyen Quang Thinh
Men's Doubles Encouragement Award: Viengkhone Luangaphai - Thanvakhom Sosam Phanxay (2 Lao students)
First prize in mixed doubles: Trinh Tung Lam - Do Thi Bich Ngoc
Third place in mixed doubles: Nguyen Tuan Linh - Nguyen Mai Phuong
Third place in women's doubles: Ho Thi An - Pham Thi Thuy

10 students participated in the competition.

The teams participating in the tournament
It can be said that, compared to the two previous participations (2015 and 2016), this year the Badminton Club of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities achieved its best results in the men's doubles and mixed doubles events. The tournament is a platform for Vietnamese and foreign youth union members and students to interact and learn from each other, thereby strengthening the bonds between units in various activities and providing an excellent opportunity to enhance people-to-people exchanges and diplomacy – which is precisely the goal of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Thanh Xuan District when organizing these annual sports activities.
