International Scholars Exchange Program 2010-2011

The Asia Research Center (ARC), Vietnam National University, Hanoi, announces the International Scholar Exchange Fellowship Program (ISEF) for the years 2010-2011. The program is funded by the Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies (KFAS).

1. Subject: Staff currently working at Vietnam National University, Hanoi

2. Selection criteria:

• Under 50 years old.
• Holds a doctoral degree or higher.
  (as of the date of application)

3. Research Area:

• Social Sciences and Humanities (Majors: Economics, Business Administration, Political Science, Public Administration, Law, Sociology, Education, Psychology, Anthropology, Journalism, Geography, Philosophy, History).
• Energy-related fields: Petrochemical technology and related areas.
• Information Science and Technology: Electrical Engineering (Electronics), Telecommunications, Computer Science, and related fields.
• Life sciences.

4. Scholarship Details:

• Research support: 2,200,000 won/month (26,400,000 won/year ~ 24,000 USD).
• A thesis support payment of 1,000,000 won (900 USD) will be provided upon submission of the research report at the end of the semester (August 2011).
• Initial support: 1,000,000 won (900 USD). (The above support is provided directly to the scholar.)
• Round-trip airfare (economy class). (Tickets purchased for the scholar by the Center for Asian Studies Support)
• Entitled to insurance benefits:
  - Health insurance (upon request).
  - Accident insurance for foreigners.
• They are provided with optimal facilities for research.
