Peer evaluation of the quality of the CLC training program at the university level in History

This morning, January 4, 2017, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities conducted a peer quality assessment of the high-quality university-level training program in History.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, including Vice Rectors: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan; leaders of functional departments, the Center for Training Quality Assurance and Head of the Faculty of History - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Van Quan and heads of departments of the faculty. The external evaluation team of Hanoi National University was led by Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Hung.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa said: The University of Social Sciences and Humanities has been implementing quality accreditation activities for 11 years and considers this an important solution to improve the quality of training and scientific research activities. Through accreditation, the University has recognized both strengths and limitations to overcome, in order to better meet the requirements of high-quality human resources of society. Up to now, the University has had 14 university training programs participating in external assessment, of which 03 training programs have been accredited according to the standards of the Association of ASEAN Universities (AUN). Since 2006, the University has been one of the first units to participate in accreditation according to the standards of VNU and since 2015, it has participated in accreditation according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training. The accreditation results are all positive and show the progress of the University in the integration process. The peer quality assessment of the History major's CLC training program today continues to be an activity in the roadmap towards regular quality assessment of all training programs in the School in the future.

Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Hung - Head of the External Evaluation Team of VNU expressed his thanks for the cooperation of the University and hoped for a frank and open exchange between the staff, lecturers and students of the University and the evaluation team to achieve the best working results. The goal of the evaluation activity is to review the strengths and weaknesses of the training program based on the issued standards, from which there will be proposals or suggestions for improvement solutions to further improve the quality of training.

Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Van Quan - Head of the Faculty of History introduced briefly about the history and activities of the Faculty, affirming: The Faculty is the cradle of learning and growth of many famous scientists of the country; currently training 8 majors of Historical Science; has many achievements recognized by the State and society in training and scientific research activities. The University CLC program in History has been implemented since 2001 to provide high-quality human resources in History for society. Participating in quality assessment activities will create opportunities for the Faculty to further promote its existing achievements, and at the same time gradually standardize training and scientific research activities towards integration.

During January 4-5, 2017, the External Evaluation Team of VNU will work at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities with the following activities: researching documents, collecting evidence and interviewing relevant subjects.
