On the morning of March 29th, the final match of the 5th Men's Student Football Tournament of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities took place between the Philosophy Faculty and the Archival Studies and Office Management Faculty (LTH&QTVP). Despite being considered superior in terms of physical fitness and experience, the LTH&QTVP team fell behind in the first half. They only managed to equalize in the latter half of the second half.
On the morning of March 29th, the final match of the 5th Men's Student Football Tournament of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities took place between the Philosophy Faculty and the Archival Studies and Office Management Faculty (LTH&QTVP). Despite being considered superior in terms of physical fitness and experience, the LTH&QTVP team fell behind in the first half. They only managed to equalize in the latter half of the second half.
With the score tied 1-1 after regulation time, the two teams had to decide the winner through a penalty shootout. In the first five attempts, luck favored the Philosophy Faculty team, who prevailed 3-2. Thus, after eight years, the championship title returned to the Philosophy Faculty team.
Immediately following the final match was the Closing Ceremony. At the end of the tournament, in addition to the championship title, the Philosophy Faculty team also won the Style Award, and player Nguyen Van Ha was voted the Best Player of the tournament. The Literature Faculty and Sociology Faculty shared third place. Furthermore, the Organizing Committee also awarded other individual prizes: The Top Scorer award went to Nguyen Ngoc Hung (History Faculty); the Best Goalkeeper award went to Nguyen Hoai Thu (History Faculty).
The 5th Men's Student Football Tournament of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities took place from February 23, 2008 to March 29, 2008, with the participation of 272 players from 13 teams, divided into 4 groups. This tournament was considered to have a superior level of competition, with 60 goals scored in 22 matches. The matches were exciting, lively, and dramatic, played in a spirit of fair play, honesty, and solidarity among the players and teams on the field. Following this tournament, the University will select a team to participate in future external tournaments.
