On April 19, 2008, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Student Union, in coordination with the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, organized a blood donation program. This activity was in response to the National Blood Donation Day on April 7th and followed the 77-day intensive campaign to achieve the highest results, launched by the Youth Union and the Student Union of the university.

Attending the opening ceremony was Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoi Loan – Party Committee member, Head of the Department of Politics and Student Affairs. Immediately after the opening ceremony, the school's Youth Volunteer Team, along with members of the 7/4 Club (National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion), guided the volunteers on how to fill out the registration form and the blood donation process.

According to preliminary statistics, approximately 250 people registered to participate in this blood donation drive. In addition to students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, there were also a number of volunteers from the University of Natural Sciences. Learning from previous drives, this year's program was held throughout the day to accommodate all volunteers. However, due to limited resources, the doctors at the Institute of Hematology were only able to collect 124 units of blood.

Regardless of whether it was their first time or they had donated blood many times before, the volunteers all appeared very happy and confident. It can be said that, with their youthful energy and volunteer spirit for a truly humanitarian goal, the volunteers transformed the event into a festive occasion.
