Associate Professor Nguyen Van Ham, Vice President of the School's Former Teachers' Association, gave a speech summarizing the Association's activities in 2016. The School's Former Teachers' Association currently has 258 members. With the motto "Happy - Healthy - Useful", the School's Former Teachers' Association has had many meaningful activities and always connected its members with all common activities of the School. Last year, the School's Former Teachers' Association held a discussion on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the tradition of Hanoi National University. Also on this occasion, the School's Party Committee, Board of Directors, Trade Union, Youth Union and the School's Former Teachers' Association visited Van Tho commune, Dai Tu, Thai Nguyen - where the School was evacuated during the destructive war of the US imperialists. The School awarded 30 scholarships to students who overcame difficulties, presented gifts of gratitude to families and had friendly exchanges with leaders and many local people. The Association has organized and participated with the VNU Former Teachers Association to visit historical and cultural relics and famous scenic spots such as Ba Vang Pagoda (Quang Ninh), Con Son - Kiep Bac (Hai Duong), Trang An spiritual ecological area - Bai Dinh Pagoda - Phat Diem Church (Ninh Binh)... Stemming from their love for the profession, health conditions and professional work requirements, many teachers still actively participate in teaching, guiding postgraduate students, doctoral students; participating in scientific councils, writing research articles, reference books... Every spring meeting and on the occasion of the industry's anniversaries, generations of lecturers, staff and civil servants of the University gather together, and are informed by the Faculties and the University about the activities and outstanding achievements that the University has achieved every year.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim, Party Committee Secretary, Vice Principal of the School, spoke to acknowledge the activities of the Retired Teachers Association, which demonstrated solidarity and was always a reliable support for the Party Committee and the School Board of Directors. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim briefly reported on the outstanding achievements of the School in 2016. In the stable and sustainable development, towards the long-term development goals of the School, there is always encouragement, care and sharing from retired lecturers, staff and civil servants. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim sent to the retired staff of the School his sincere feelings and New Year wishes of "Longevity, Health and Peace".
On behalf of the Party Committee and the School Board, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim congratulated the teachers on their 80th and 85th birthdays.

Prof. Dr. Vu Duong Ninh, Chairman of the School's Retired Teachers' Association, on behalf of the teachers, congratulated and thanked the school for their concern and affection. He shared: "On behalf of the Retired Teachers' Association, I would like to wish all teachers, uncles and brothers and sisters good health and longevity. Longevity means living long, to live long you need to be healthy, have a peaceful spiritual life, and a happy family. I wish the retired cadres: good health, happiness and a long life, a very long life".
The close affection, deep affection and sense of responsibility towards the School are always promoted by retired cadres through various and meaningful activities. In 2017, the School's Retired Teachers' Association will end its 2nd term and prepare to organize the 3rd term Congress (2017-2022).
